Im really really tired of all this commotion on forums, they are not as good, you need way too much to have a forum, you should look at your venture from every direction then decide on a forum.
The perfect situation for a forum would have:
- 1-2k traffic
- Responsive visitors (ones that at least comment on the main site or blog)
- Targeted traffic (ones that actually buy stuff from you)
- And socially active visitors (lets face it you can’t have make unsocial people interact with each other at all)
Now here are the top 10 reasons not to have a forum.
- Too many moronic people to deal with - for example – “heya admin, why is it that im not a mod =p, im the only one here, make me admin and give me 50% of the revenue now!”
- Way too much to do to get it started. advertising, modding, skinning and alot more.
- Daily activities exceed the limit of a “part time job” deleting spam posts, keeping up appearances, daily updates, daily contests
- Way too much investment and an even longer investment turn around plan. seriously waiting a whole year for a 40% profit? i dont think so..
- Finally the last reason, ill say this again….the last reason is moronic people “ayo admin, look we both know that im the best here, so how bouts ya pay me 300$/month to look after your board for ya…yeh sounds good ay? i know XD” < i swear if i had a laser guided spear gun…..son of a….
