People keep asking me, why do i change Gurilla.net so much?
Well the answer is simple, i dont have my mind set at the moment for it, there are a ton of things i can do with it but nothing seems good “enough” for it, but hey, thats just me.
Other then that lets talk about niches, i’m gonna pick around 5 niches and give you one way to market it..
- Scripts
These can take up an invest of upto $2,000 but the reward might be greater if you choose to develop the right kind of script only, for example if you make a myspace layouts/resource script, your target would be only webmasters of a fluid budget that don’t mind spending 100s or even 1000s on a moments notice on upgrades/addons. Kinda steep i know but a great niche non the less.
The best way to market this is webmaster forums, and/or (not that i consider it) hotscripts.
2. Proxies
Yep its considered a nice too, you are not selling anything, so adsense is the way to go, best way to market this is, search engines, get backlinks with the right anchors, and never work on more then 2 anchors at a time unless its onsite SEO.
3. Fan Sites
Well not that i wanna call following a trend a niche, but hey its easy to market, if you like a certain series on tv or any kind of media that is on a current roll, you should take it up and try to squeeze out the fan juice, a fan site can be an MFA or a full fledged site with Galleries/Bio/News/Blog < yep thats my 9 yards ofr a fan site.
This kinda site would definitely do well in Adwords and in Search Engines too, as you can see Backlinks are a great way to market almost any niche.
4. Resource Sites
Now we are talking!
I consider these eye candy of the highest level, and yes i mean that in the best way.
These are sites that rank good in Search Engines, even if you don’t work on backlinks and only advertise as a more word-to-mouth or in other words referral sort of way, these kind of sites can do great if they are at least a year old and are fully indexed, yes you don’t have to work to get indexed, but you do have to work to keep updated content on the site at least new content every 3 days.
5. Blogs
Yes, a classic.
Blogs are like link traps in my opinion, if you are a potential reader/info seeker and you land at a person’s blog which has unique content, you will end up being 40% inspired 20% will to write about that blog and 40% satisfied, bad stats ay?
I know, its hard to blog, specially about things that people actually want to read!
Best way to market this is Digg/Stumble/Del.icio.us, in other words, Social Media Marketing.
———
And thats it for the 5 niches, i personally think (as a theory) that taking up one niche and sticking to it, is the the best thing you can do for your bank balance, but i never really pursued that kinda way to be honest, although in some part of my head, i really really want to.
Concentrating all my powers on one site can result in something really valuable, in theory ofcourse, so far i haven’t tried it, at the moment i stand at over 300 sites, spread over 90 niches, i really feel funny saying niche now, anyway, having so many sites is kinda cool but only from another persons point of view, there are several sites selling daily, doesn’t mean all the buyers have the same intention and/or aim for them to buy the sites.
Make better decisions, do some research on the niche before taking the leap
