Here is SEO Tip no.1, its something i wanna do to discuss things people want to know since they start a site to the point they sell it.
We all know how hectic it can get to be indexed at Google, other search engines can take care of themselves, Google is the only one that requires a few steps that need to be taken before you can be listed in Google’s index.
First of all if you have just launched a site and its hardly 2-3 days late and its still not indexed, you have to accept that its not that active yet to be indexed itself, a few steps are as follows.
- Well first of all go to your site and look through it for flaws or errors, such as duplicate title , duplicate content , unique meta tags, you don’t want to invite a spider over for inspection for an index listing and have errors every other page.
- Now you have to make sure you are making the right choice in the URL structure before trying to get indexed, this refers to both “www , non www” and “seo urls”, once you choose something it can get troublesome to get those urls in the index, this i will explain later as well.
- Now if you have made all the necessary steps go make yourself a Sitemap and headover to Google Webmaster Central and submit the sitemap.
You will definitely see more googlbot hits then usual, now you are basically saying “Hey, im here, let me in.” and google will give you a listing on its index in at least 2 days, for me it never takes more then 10 hours, but hey its good to set your margines high.
