Google’s Indexing Rollercoaster.

04 September 2007 - By Ahson Rafiq - Filled in News, SEO

Earlier i talked about Alive Directory getting de-indexed so this is much like a sequel to the whole google de-indexation week, as for alive directory its going up slowly in indexed pages so no worries there for the moment, right now its 7000+ pages, good sign so far.

alive directory

Oh man!

I never thought my work would end, since this index rollercoaster started its been a crazy week almost every client i have acted up on this as a major de-indexation (some of them infact were getting deindexed, for a wohle lotta other reasons) so after watching 50 sites for more then 48 hours i can honestly say that this is trimming not de-indexation if you have a site that is currently getting going down in indexed pages (which it may look like de-indexation) its not, its simply raising its level of quality so if your site doesn’t measure up to the level it will be de-indexed or removed from the index but its not permanently gone, just get better content or more activity going on and you’ll be back in no time.

Would this be the same for ranking last in a zero competition name brand keyword (wordhugger), or for sites that are actually not listed at all in google?

  2. Gnet Says:

Well not quite, it depends on quality of content, in this site’s case it was a trimming, first all pages that were not up to the quality level were de-indexed then the site was crawled again and re-indexed.
