Ah well blog comments have no-follows on links so you won't really get either link juice or a valid backlink from that, just traffic thats IF someone clicks it.

So basically there is no value whatsoever to it whether its for good or bad :).

Ok, that sounds good. The site hasn't launched yet, thus the simple landing page, I was just making sure it wasn't a penalty from something. Well I feel silly accusing top commentators section of blogs, for a change from google, but thanks for the sound advice.

Nah you aren't being penalized at all this is from the recent quality level change in index which has de ranked many sites so from the looks of your site you only have 1 page indexed and nothing much on that 1 page either, you need to build the site up more now.

Hello gnet, I saw this post from the pingback, and wanted to ask you if you had any suggestions for finding out if my site has a google penalty on it. At the moment, I have BARELY started gaining links (Just blogs), and I am a top commentator on shoemoney's blog (sitewide + homepage link), but in the last few days, my site has disappeared from "word hugger" on google, and is ranking in the LAST position for "wordhugger." When there was 9 pages about wordhugger, I was 9th, and now there is 12, and I am 12. Without any competition for the keyword, I am 99% sure it is penalized, or else I would be ranking #1 without a doubt like I had been previously. How do I find out the problem, or even going about a solution?
