Okay so lets say you have launched a new site or directory or whatever and you need to get your alexa up fast to get more webmasters coming ot your site ya know to get to know the site better and what not do this.
Make several banners for your site big or small don’t matter and buy banner spots on high traffic sites with banners linked from your site that will send one hit to your site whenever the high traffic site is loaded, instantly giving toy start up traffic!
they dont have to visit your site for it to count once the banner loads its enough!

I saw someone in digitalpoint advertising that they would load a 0 pixel by 0 pixel frame to your site and send you xx,xxx visitors for like $20. This is just another reason people should stop using alexa for accuracy.

Exactly, the algorithm they use is way too basic to calculate traffic, i mean c’mon they think yahoo has more traffic then google for crying out loud hah!

Haha, good point Gnet. That confused me too. My alexa rank jumped to 200,000 in USA traffic in 4 days of being up. Thanks to stumbleupon, Digg, and wikipedia

Hmm. A way to trick the alexa system, then let people go off of it as a way to judge traffic? Pretty stupid if you ask me.
