Blogging about Blogging - Facts

john-cow-dot-com_1193289198937.pngIn other words its like blogging about making money online, which seems to be the current trend if you will, seo is a major part of the process of making a money making blog by the way, they are really famous for their content as they may seem to help you in various areas but try looking at their blogging techniques, its just like using images to make the average content a bit more “acceptable”, the screen shot below is from john cow which is a mock up of john chow, after john chow dropped out of the top 10 serps “john chow“, john cow took over the spot light under the serps for john chow, right now johnchow.com ranks 69th for john chow, it may get better with proper seo but i doubt it.

google-position-tool-check-google-position-google-rank-google-ranking-check-google-rank-seo-tools-serp_1193289514828.pngBlogs about making money online and/or blogging as they try to justify a these days, can be viral but they come with their drawbacks, one can be your serps and cost of seo can be really vicious because your whole business plan is sell every part of your own blog as well to make money for your own self too, now that’s something  google does not like, selling links is a big n0-no when it comes to making blogs that will endup having authority or atleast you would hope that they would get authority one day but you are just making it hard if you show it openly that you are selling links openly.

Blogging about how you think people can be better bloggers is a good thing but when you start recommending your advertisers as service providers for something those bloggers need, then you are crossing the line, you can-not give an honest opinion when you are getting paid for it, thats one thing for sure.

The most mainstream and relevant blog on blogging about blogging has to be weblogtoolscollection , that is impartial and fair content, more like user powered , you submit info and the talk about it, no advertisers are promoted through their posts its one of the reasons its syndicated inside the wordpress dashboard!

To be any kind of a blogger you need to be relevant, no matter what it is just be relevant to your niche and you’ll be a successful blogger in no time.

Blogging tip - Using Trackbacks

got-a-gadget-to-show-off-meet-up-with-crunchgear-in-san-francisco_1193201049421.pngWell, i don’t really consider this a link building technique but it sure does get me some exposure from bigger blogs, see the thing is trackbacks usually show up on the very top of the post page as noted in the image on the right, and the comments come in the picture afterwards, but i choose to blog about it rather then comment on a blog is because this way i get content, traffic and more indexed pages as well as be more interactive with my target traffic, now this does not mean you should go around spamming every big blog on the net, if you think you can right a relevant and useful post to anything that you are interested in on a big blog then go for it and use a track back.

For example, techcrunch talked about pixsy the power search engine, i think its just spam because they are listing all the searches made as asp pages, in other words making them look like static pages with keywords so sooner or later it will be spamming google very nicely, i like the concept though leaving out content search and focusing on images and videos only that was a nice move to lengthen their life span in google.

Now back to the topic, using trackbacks is a better way of commenting a post in my opinion as you can comment and get more content to your own site as well not to mention that it gives you a wider genre.

The usual blogger dilemma is the current trend, nobody knows what to talk about in their blogs in order to stay fresh, using trackbacks gets you that edge since you are not just making spam but you are giving your opinion on a certain matter already blogged about in other blogs, but always be sure to be relevant to the original post and/or make a better post, anything below average is unacceptable because that would make your blog look nothing more then just spam, most inner pages on this blog do have backlinks from techcrunch but if you do go looking through my backlinks you’ll realize that the posts that DO have those backlinks are either better then the one on techcrunch and/or are my opinion on the matter that got some decent traffic or diggs.

Every one wants to know all sides of a story, so if a bigger blog is taking one side and you feel differently about the matter, then you have something to roll with there, its like debating but not face-to-face, it creates a healthier envoirnment.

  1. Bigger blogs get deep links.
  2. Useful content made on both ends.
  3. Both share traffic with each other.

Spam with a twist..The Blogger’s Downside..

Well although i love blogging but spam is always there, no matter how good you try people come up with new “templates” of spam..

Here is a screen shot of my spam box aka Akismet after my last install which was a day ago or so..

damn spam

Most of it is standard stuff but note the ones that have quotes from writers or whatever they seem to be i don’t really care because its totally irrelevant to the post and this blog as well the one that caught my eye was this one, lol was all i did!

stupid spam

Akismet works better then i’d have thought, no matter how many times i see these spam comments stopped by akismet i can’t stop getting impressed by it, seriously its amazing..

But its good to see people are getting more ‘creative’ :D
