Hah i literally laughed and had the urge to say “eeexcellent” like Mr.Burns from the simpsons!
A couple months ago Matt called war on sponsored themes on the wordpress themeviewer, then there was this movement from him to bycott all sponsored themes of any kind at all, that was when i stopped making wordpress themes for sponsorships.
Today while playing around with search queries i ended up at this site reading about Matt’s Announcement to launch a wordpress theme market where Automattic keeps 50% of the price of the theme that you made and are selling through them.
It is infact a great idea since there will be less sponsored themes with no irrelevant links, but cmon he couldve achieved that with or without sponsored themes on the market, the sponsored themes in my opinion just add a little more competition to the market, the more competition the better.

Hmmm, that’s sounds interesting, but as I’m not a theme maker that doesn’t bothers me all that much, and I still prefer the free themes, hope there still will be lots of them around
