Adsense - Less Clickable Areas on Text Ads

By Ahson Rafiq in Webmaster on 16th November 2007

Google in a recent change in adsense ads announced that the clickable area on all Text Ads is now just limited the title and the url this makes it harder for larger sites to earn because as alot of people know that most ad clicks are invalid, people don’t want to click the ads they just do it by mistake, because the text (description) on the ads is selectable, and you can highlight it (default) but these ads cut out that and leave the visitors with a more precise clikable area, more relevance for advertisers, less earnings for most publishers.

I like it! Adsense is finally taking a stand on all these issues people have been ranting about for months now :D

But… but… I liked the accidental clicks I got every now and then! I guess I just can’t be too happy about anything that cuts out of my earnings, even if it’s not all that much.
