This caught my eye this morning while i was hurdling for college, these are trends from my google feed reader, some stats might not be as accurate as techcrunch since other feeds were added way after techcrunch was.
If you blog about several aspects of your niche you will definitely get alot of feed readers, different people are interested in different things, as for me i like staying up to date with the latest webware and controversies going on online, so i search for stories and wherever i do find them i subscribe to those blogs, now if you are reading this post you have to be a feed reader yourself, you subscribed to this blog because you saw a post that you liked and so you subscribed to me now think of this the same way, if you only keep blogging about one aspect of your niche you will only get a small number of feed readers that are interested that want to read what you blog about, now if you blog about many aspects and different views of the same niche you will find a substantial increase in your feed reader.
As shown in the screenshot above, the blogs with the most post frequency on a daily basis have the most feed readers (shoemoney is an exception) techcrunch reaches out to the masses because it covers ALOT of aspects of technology and webware, that right there can serve as a good example.
Remember, there isn’t a single blog online that sticks to the line, going off-topic or covering different aspects of a niche or an event is a good thing, diversify your feed readers, not just for the extra traffic but for the different opinions on your posts as well, its always refreshing to read comments on my blog about what people think about what i had posted.

That is true. Diversity is indeed very helpful to bring in new traffic. Once again, good advice.

well that’s might be wrong on principle’s but its quite true, no blog now a day’s focus on only one topic and if does it is llimited to restricted few only.
the more diverse you are the more customer’s you are getting.
