Blogging Inspiration

31 December 2007 - By Mary Stage - Filled in Blogging, Webmaster

Blueverse is proud to offer you suggestions on where to get inspiration for your blog posts. We hope to make it a weekly feature so that you can get a new source of inspiration every week.

Here are our suggestions for today:

If you are looking for a good place to find out what people are currently searching for the most, take a visit to the Google Trends Lab. If you can post information quickly enough, you may gain some new readers for your blog that would have otherwise not found you.

From the home page, you can see the top ten trends and it gives you the option to see more hot trends. By clicking this link it will open a list of the top 100 current trends. There might be something in the list that you can easily blog about that day, and if you are really good, you could make a few different posts about a hot trend every day to explode your traffic stats.

And the next tip is involved more around your niche market. Find a popular blog that contains information about the niche your blog is about to see what they are writing about. If they have a lot of comments be sure to read those as well. These comments on a particular subject give you great ideas for writing blog posts. Reader’s comments about the topic might give you a different angle on a subject than you would get from just reading the article itself.

As many of you may know, I write blog posts and web content for many different webmasters. By doing this, I have learned many different approaches to finding inspiration for writing great content. I hope you will enjoy my suggestions, I can’t wait until next week when I can share some more with you.

Where does your blogging inspiration come from? Blueverse would love to know so that we may share your suggestions with our readers, we’ll also let you tell us what you think about our suggestions. Add a comment to this post and keep reading Blueverse, you might just see an article with your blogging inspiration ideas in it.

this is the best thing i saw today, coz i am deeply in need of this advice,

but one tip from my side,

write down what you can do best,
and then select the most tiny part of it which you can explain in a playfull manner and start writting about it.

this method is what i find very good, but it has one disadvantage you nee to keep your mind at that place only,

but if you go for search trends then you can write much more without much of your thought process working.

This is great advice and although I haven’t started my blogging yet, I would think it could be approached like an artist approaches inspiration. By looking at the world around you and paying attention to what’s going on.

I once asked in a forum where other bloggers sometimes got their inspiration to write on the days that nothing seems to come to mind and was told about a cool website named killerstartups.com. It shows new companies or websites that are new to the scene. Great way to inform your readers of a new internet tool or resource website.

    Mary,

Actually, I think everyone has good ideas once they start thinking about it. I’ve been having a couple of blog posts that I’ve been working on for a while. One was “50 Local Places to Advertise in Los Angeles”… to give a couple of them away – there is advertising on the back of shopping receipts! Also, there are places to hang up business cards for free.

Whenever I have an idea, and I’m not near a computer, I use http://www.jott.com. I just record a 15 second or less snippet, and jott emails me the transcribed version to my email account. I take that and paste it either into a wordpress draft post, or a “business ideas” worksheet that I keep on my desktop for my next business.

I’d love to hear your thoughts about this,
    David
