Well it’s the beginning of a new week and I think after the Holidays everyone can use some inspiration for writing blog posts successfully in 2008. Make sure to subscribe so that you won’t miss a single source of inspiration that I offer in my weekly posts.
I don’t know how many of you are currently using Google Alerts, but it’s a great way to stay current on a topic. Google Alerts will email you anytime there are new Google results for your search terms.
It’s pretty easy to set up, all you have to do is enter your search terms, select what you want to monitor, decide how often you want to be notified (once a week, every day, or as it happens), and enter the email address you want to be notified at.
This should give you an endless amount of topics to draw from in order to keep your content fresh and up-to-date with the latest happenings on any subject. They even give you a place to manage your alerts so that you can easily view your search terms.
Be one of the first blogs with an update on a certain celebrity or have the most current political news when you use Google Alerts. The possibilities are endless. Spend some time setting this up for keywords that relate to your niche and see what kind of inspiration it will bring you.
By using Google Alerts, you can have the most current news on any subject if you stay on top of it and commit to writing about breaking news that Google will notify you of. If readers see that you are coming up with the best stories on a subject, they will most likely subscribe to read what you have to say everyday.
Don’t forget to submit your sources of blogging information so that I can write about them here. Just use the comment link to let me know what they are. I’m looking forward to checking out your suggestions and I hope you can gain something from mine.

Although I don’t really use google alert so much for blogging purposes on itself it’s definitely a great feature, sort of like a custom RSS for any possible search term you could imagine. Only downside though is that it isn’t RSS but mail in my opinion, since it floods your inbox a bit if you set up multiple alerts whilst that would actually be a thing for which I’d use an RSS reader.
But I suppose for Google it’s easier to mail than host millions of custom RSS files.
