Badmouthing = Traffic!
By in Blogging, News, Webmaster on 20th January 2008A few days ago i mentioned Shoemoney’s Post on 95% of the SEOs being slimy in my misc ramblings. I’ll make my position on this topic crystal clear from the start - I agree that 95% of the SEOs online are indeed slimy.
Every webmaster has his fair share of fans and haters, most people appeal to the fans but if you appeal to the haters you might get something like this..
After Jeremy’s article a tiny dispute erupted on his blog soon it spread across several blogs and lately i’ve been doing alot of sphinning and saw this story on how shoemoney is a “damn” hypocrite and the whole article revolved around his argument of how make money online bloggers are seos themselves and the worst of them all. Badmouthing someone like shoemoney with hardly valid points got him great traffic and a front page spot at sphinn but what most people don’t see is that the person blogging about this is a “make money online blogger” himself and is doing more bad mouthing to others then actually getting anything done and besides from that it was a good link bait technique with a fairly big price to pay.
Badmouthing people could get you some really heavy traffic if you appeal to at least 30% of the traffic but it comes at a price of making several enemies at once, It could be considered as a last resort in my opinion.

I’m not a make money online blogger myself.
I rarely try to monetize my own blog.
I’ve had many, many posts. 2 promoted a product. 1 worze, 1 adcenter.
Aside from that, I’ve had adsense, and a couple tiny banners for services I’ve USED.
I’m an SEO blogger. Thank ya very much.
And yeah, I’m very much aware I made some enemies for that post. Although oddly enough, Shoe(and his 2nd account on sphinn, oops!) both sphunn the post…they want the press, just as I said. It’s all about supporting that online radio program. That’s it.

Oh yeah, I forgot. I don’t NEED this to hit the frontpage of sphinn. Most everything I post does. I’m sitting on a 50% ratio right now. MUCH higher than that over the past month.
Just because you spam the upcoming page and I call you out on it, don’t get in a huff at me.
