If you won't write promotional article in a smart way it'll look like regular advertisement. If people will notice that the articles are written just to make money and they don't contain useful information most probably they'll bury your blog amongst their friends... Moreover, I agree with sunken. The worst thing in the internet is if you'll go on one blog and then on another you might see the same articles! If you want to show that something is worth seeing it's better to comment it in your article and include a hyperlink to commented article. People would like to know others' opinion about different stuffs and that is why they do read blogs. Never ever try to pass yourself off as an expert in a field you know nothing about. This damages your credibility and hurts your future efforts. You must stick with what you know. If you need some help in getting started, you'll find plenty of information about your subject. Take your time, and read what other authors are saying on your subject.
