5 tips to make sure you make money blogging

10 February 2008 - By Ahson Rafiq - Filled in Blogging, Make Money Online

Having a good base for money blogging is really important if you are new to money blogging and you already have chosen a blog platform then you’ll need to know your priorities and next steps for the blog to grow.

Here are 5 ways to make sure you make money blogging!

Adspace/Template

You can’t sell what you don’t have, make sure your template has a space just for advertisers which is designed really well, this is to attract advertisers and ensure a good CTR on those banner/text ads that you’ll be selling.

Make sure you have an Advertise page with all the info on it so it is easier for potential advertisers to buy ads from you and if there are some terms or anything make sure you have pointed them out clearly on the advertising page.

Promotion

Think of your blog as your main and the only site you own, advertise it everywhere, use it as your signature like:

Name
blogname.com

That not only gets you more respect but it establishes your identity and you become well known within your circle by it, but to get back on point, constant promotion is crucial for your blog, never let your guard down and depend on just the readers to generate enough traffic, you need to keep promoting your blog every chance you get to make sure your advertisers stay interested as well as your blog gets stronger and you develop a better sales pitch. ;)

Targeted Blogging

If you have researched the advertiser’s market and you now know what they are looking for then go to your blog and start some intense niche article blogging, get some heavy targeted traffic using either smm or other methods and generate the hype the advertisers are looking for, its not just about traffic but conversions as well, if the traffic you send converts well the advertisers will definitely be back for more!

Think 5 steps ahead

I won’t exaggerate, thinking 5 steps ahead is all you need, if you know a certain ad on your site is going to expire go search for more the best way to do that is make “Want to sell : AD/s” threads on forums, thats how i make most of my sales, the only 2 forums where i have seen good sales are Sitepoint (paid listing) and Digitalpoint, take your pick and make sure your blog doesn’t go ad-less.

Not just in manners of ads, but content wise as well if you know you are running out of things to blog or your personal life is getting busy or you don’t have enough time in the coming days then just hire another blogger to keep on adding more posts on your blog, every day that your blog doesn’t have content loses you a valuable reader!

NO Love Links!

If you are linking to fellow blogs to get some interaction going no-follow the links, your link love is only for the advertisers, if you openly give out link love to just any site out there you won’t get that much authority in the long term and most advertisers won’t want to advertise at your blog, think about it like this – All links at your blog are no-followed but if someone wants a do-follow link they have to pay a certain amount for a sponsored reviewthat way you make your blog exclusively for advertisers!
