Blogging Tips: Content

Is Your Post useful?

When considering your next blog post to give to your readers, consideration must be taken as to the usefulness factor.  If you don’t think your readers will find it useful, what’s the point.  Maybe as a form of entertainment it would be ok every now and then to make an un-useful post but for the most part you will want to make them as useful as they can be for your readers.  When they find your blog posts are full of good useful information, they are more likely to come back every time they log on to check out your latest posts.

Did you check for typos?

Having errors in your posts could be the difference between gaining a new subscriber or making sure that visitor never visits your blog again.  It’s true, most people won’t read your blog if you don’t take the time to make sure you have at least spelled things right.

Making sure you have conjugated  your verbs correctly seems to be the hardest part for most bloggers, especially if they are not native English speakers.  Knowing what tense to use is also important, don’t start off writing your post in first person and end up in third person, it will just confuse people.

There are many places online that you can brush up on your English writing skills.  Another good way to increase your writing skills is by chatting with a native English speaker on your instant messenger service.  Reading the correct way things should be said is a great way to pick up some natural learning and you can have fun doing it.

So there are my blogging tips for the day, I hope you will take the time to make sure your blog is grammatically correct and flows nicely with no typos.  However, even the most trained eye can miss a small typo on occasion and shouldn’t be condemned for making one tiny mistake.  I doubt seeing the word “their” spelled as “there” wouldn’t keep someone from visiting your blog again.  It’s the bigger mistakes you need work on.

As useful as posts on your blog. Each post teaches me something. I previously used to write only about myself. But now I think : What can i put in the post for the reader? Why would he want to read the post if there is nothing for him? I’ve now been writing more useful articles. Wish me all the best.
