Beta Adsense for Videos

By Ahson Rafiq in News on 23rd February 2008

Adsense for videos was launched in beta a few days ago, what i like about these units is that youtube is like the most watched video/entertainment site on the net and having ads within the videos can really really increase the revenue, which also makes me think why cant we make flash players to insert adsense into flash?

I’ll say this right now, i am not a coder so I have no idea if this is doable but if it is its worth giving it a shot, google is.. Self hosted videos, with adsense…thats where the money is!

Imagine sites like Veoh and Miniclip having ads within their flash games and videos, they could increase their revenue by 250% at least by my calculations!

Flash games may be a problem because of the potential for accidental clicks from the play area is high. But then Google may find a way around that as they seem pretty good at coming out with new formats. It will be interesting where they take this one.

Google is used to releasing good software/code as BETA. I’ve not tried this yet, but I’ve seen this being implemented. It works good, but doesn’t really fit well into websites, mostly because of the rigid size of the ad.
