Why I give my content for free.
By in News on 6th March 2008With all the paid content flowing around and the membership sites, the question “Is free content really THAT good?“ always comes up, to start off I’m actually proud to say that all my content on blueverse is free and will stay free as long as it’s within blueverse. I am not saying all content should be free, every site has its own set of niche visitors and content trends, not all sites can follow the same guidelines.
Alienating your readers, that’s what happens when you offer 2 types of content on the same site, it gives the illusion of you somehow “screwing” your readers, it does in fact give me a feeling of somehow being screwed while reading a blog knowing theres better content on the same site that I can’t read..Suddenly Paid content added to an already free content blog is a really bad idea, okay you made your point that your content is better then most out there thats why you have all those readers and the responses from those readers, so it doesn’t mean you should just get up and turn over all those people who supported you at the start and helped you grow.

Constant Updates
Almost every niche updates monthly if not weekly, it’s really impossible to make an ebook without any updates to it and claim it as a “permanent/one step solution to all your problems” - That’s how most ebooks are marketing themselves lately and it’s very misleading by the time another newbie reads that ebook the trends would have changed massively, changing trends is the only reason blog’s are alive, still.
Even Aaron Wall from seobook stopped the sale of his ever so popular “SEO Book” and turned his site into a Teaching site rather then a bookseller, although the ebook niche is very profitable but as every ebook it only runs it course for 1-4 months then dies out unless the trned stays the same.
More money.
If you think you can make good money through paid content, think again, you can make even more money with free content, the amount of people out there with the thirst of simple lessons on tough topics is enormous, big enough to make john chow 5 figures every month with ease. If you can serve your readers with content that they want to read then you can use the rest of the time monetizing your site from one or more of the 10 ways to make money blogging 
Now, if you are considering breaking into the paid content niche you have to do it away from your free content sites, however, feel free t advertise that paid content on your free content sites, that way you won’t hurt your readers and still maintain your image in your niche.
