Nifty Online Tools & Services for Bloggers

13 March 2008 - By Ahson Rafiq - Filled in Blogging, Internet Marketing

I come across a dozen of these online services for bloggers almost daily and only some of them end up on my top list, these are the tools that make my life easier, some help me to drive traffic while others help me by providing useful stats for my blog, either way, I’m sure that the following services will prove useful for you too!

Blogrush

blogrush_1191698504296.pngI did post a bad review of blogrush long ago but after revisiting the site and trying it out again i think i can make this work, blogrush is an interactive traffic solution for bloggers, you provide traffic to other bloggers and they do the same for you the more clicks on the blogtraffic widget the more traffic you get in return, the blogrush tool has got several updates since i last used it!

This one is a must for most new blogs.

GetClicky

Although there are alot of stat tools out there including Google analytics, which i love to use by the way, this one is a bit different from others, clicky provides normal webstats like any other stat tool out there but it has an amazing spy tool, which lets you watch your site’s traffic, live, as they come in and do whatever it is they are doing, this is really great for marketers because this is the very core of overviewing user behavior, much more effective then any survey can ever help you. Below is a screenshot from the spy tool for my new project which is a MP3 Download site.

As you can see, the stats provide the time, the ip of the user, the destination on your site that they visited and the site they were referred from, that’s if they were referred by another site otherwise that area stays blank and this tool is really accurate as it updates by the second, and you can try it out yourself too by refreshing your site and view the tool, you’ll see yourself in the tool as you refresh the page, almost instantly! :D

I signed up to clicky a few weeks after it debuted on techcrunch and since then i’ve upgraded my account to premium for only $5/month, and I’m loving the service, its one of my top 10 bookmarks to visit daily!

HelloTXT

I reviewed this service and i keep it on my top list for marketing/advertising and promoting sites, its a one step solution to social media and just amazing, it has proven itself with amazing results for my websites, what it does is takes all your social network site accounts and uses the api to post to all of those sites at once, and you get traffic from all of those sites!

Simple as that!

Blogperfume’s Feed Analyser

I’m a complete stat junkie! This is just what i need, i use this feed analyser like 3-4 times a week to figure out what’s working for me and what isn’t, frankly i love to see failure in the stats because that tells me what not to do, and i add one more entry in my “don’t do it” list :p

Check it out, these stats are pretty too!

Blogcatalog and Mybloglog

Blogcatalog and Myblog are a little bit different but they both offer one really good usable service, the visitor’s log for blogs, it’s a good way to see who has visited your blog in the last few hours. Blogcatalog offers a great free directory for you to submit your blog to, it’s good for some extra link love, plus google holds this site in high graces!
