Any one can get random traffic by throwing money around but it takes a few simple steps to make those visitors stay and keep reading your blog, its a few tips you can use to create interactivity and curiosity among your visitors , just enough to keep them coming back for more. These are all the tips and tricks i use to increase my subscriber count daily.
1. Curiosity
This one is way too obvious, readers love series of posts so if you have started a series such as “Making a WP Blog” which will contain around
8 posts then that will attract alot of readers from that certain topic and if you add a little line at the end of each of those posts like “Making a WP Blog 1 of 8 – Subscriber here for the next posts in this series!”, this will obviously lead to your feed and will end in you getting one new subscriber for everyone that visits those articles. To make this series of posts better you need to know that every step of the series has to be well detailed and carefully explained, you’ll need more then just common information to get more out of your series.
2. Presentation
Presentation matters, most of the time it counts for 70% of the marks you get for your essays in college, the more creative you get the more you please the readers, I like to use pictures to spice up my posts, sometimes videos to just as well to explain my points further. A good example here could be SEOmoz’s whiteboard Friday where rand talks about different aspects of SEO on video. Less Reading = Wider Audience.
3. Authority and Networking
![]()
Who you know in the industry matters alot, even if you have alot of good tips and tricks it helps to interview big names once in a while to boost up your readership, if your readers know that you have the reputation and ability to interview big names such as Shoemoney then they might wanna listen to you more its more intimidation then pleasing. Intimidation works for alot, it’s not just about who you know its about having a relevant content on your blog from other blogs in the same niche, that gives the blog the perfect SEO boost!
4. Power Content
Don’t just talk about how to do things, do them! Show them how things work, provide stats, woo your readers, make them believe your tactics, thats how you make the most out of your content. Making Guides and Top Lists helps as well but mostly what matters is that you are above average in matters of quality for your content. Another example here can be tools and resource list type content for your readers to be better at a certain task or niche, that can get you some serious attention. I know alot of blogs that have made webware blogs such as these and attained alot of success over little time, Some of them are..
In my opinion, that’s the kind of content is what keeps the readers coming back whether or not your content is relevant to them or not.Resources and Tools.
5. Becoming and Getting a Guest Blogger(s)
Its a two way street, having one of your readers guest blog on your blog is a big sign that you value your readers greatly but if you get an authority figure from the niche to guest blog at your blog on some topics you have already talked about (these would be in-depth) , that will get your blog more attention from readers because they’ve already read your view now they are reading an authority blogger’s view on it without searching their hats off for it.
Having Guest bloggers on your blog once in a while can spark interest for readers because everyone wants a few links for themselves so they look to guest blog on famous/high traffic blogs to get some more attention on their own blog, this can get you some potential, buyer type readerbase
Guest blogging at other blogs allows you to get a piece of someone else’s traffic, basically its like going to someone else’s stage and telling their audience about how you would do things, if they like what they hear then they’ll subscribe to you!
6. Giveaways
Well, if you are a prominent blogger and you are infact earning quite alot then you should try to give away things for free once in a while and not just cheap stuff I’m talking something that would put a dent in your wallet, I would personally like to recommend StumbleUpon traffic giveaways like problogger community reviews, its a traffic package from stumbleupon that costs $100-$500 and is quite a good giveaway by the way, think of this as a contest but i wouldn’t want to call it a contest because it gets you the kind of visitors that stop visiting when you have stopped giving away stuff and continued with tips,guides..etc
7. Over using your feed
Why just stop at in-content links and sidebar links, when you can link to your feed from almost anywhere, here are a few ways i thought of
- In forums
- Other blogs
- Sidebar Feed Widgets on other of your blogs
- Using the feedburner email subscriber feature to give away free ebooks and gaining more subscribers on different ocasions
- Using special wp plugins to make certain words in your blog link to your feed automatically
- Redirecting 404s to your feed
- When i had a sitepoint auction for a site i didn’t want to disclose i used a html page with a redirect on my blog, then when the auction was over i changed the redirected that to my feed.
There are several more ways to use your feed in many more places but the ones I’ve posted were a great help to me and proved to be really great. Subscribe to me for more tips and guides!

Creating multiple posts on one topic can work well if you spend a lot of time researching your topic for content. I hate reading a series of posts that really just make one decent article.

Koka, although making multiple posts to explain one topic is good to feed readers it only helps create curiosity, around 80% of most readers like to be teased a bit on any niche, but then there are more experienced webmasters that don’t want that.
Its your choice to choose, or you could just try both at times
