Blogging is just like SEO, trends change and so should you. This time’s topic revolves around building up responsive readers/visitors for your blog because without comments on your blog your content just seems empty and pointless to first time visitors and advertisers. Comments give your content a social touch that makes even first time readers wanna know what the topic is on and what they can get from it. Although building up random traffic at first is important but after that’s done you should focus on targeted and proper traffic that is interested in what you have to say. When a blog launches it’s strategy is Traffic for content but when you have that then you need to have Content FOR traffic , if you are posting about what they want to know about or understand then they will certainly leave a comment or ask a question or give you their point of view.
Be Gracious
Before you go around asking for comments, keep in mind that whatever kind of response you get is good, just because someone gave you a negative response doesn’t mean you should go ‘captain destructo’ on them,
every opinion counts, the negative comments help you improve your flaws and the good comments only promote your content more.
No Question Left Unanswered
If you have a question from your readers then don’t let it go unheard, answer it and make sure every question is treated with the same level of importance beacuse you are building a relationship with your readers here if they know you are there to help and provide more information and insight on a topic they will be drawn to your blog more and will bring some traffic along them too, this is a great trait to have if you want to be mentioned on other blogs in context.
Providing to the masses
Blogging alone on your blog can get lame, get around to forums and other blogs take a topic and provide your insight on it, that way the people reading that certain topic on another site will know that you have an opinion on it to, if they don’t know that then let them know that you have some more information on the topic, that way you can get some really targeted traffic which will definitely comment to show you how they feel about the matter.
This can also be done if you want to answer a question from another site on your blog, this is a sure shot way to get comments on an article, most of the time half the questions presented online are left either unanswered or provided with useless answers and/or resources this gives you a great chance to build authoritative content that will interact with visitors.
Getting appraised
Getting a good review can help you alot too, it provides a third person’s insight on you and your blog and/or your skills, it shows just how important you are and what you do is good or not, in my case i was featured as no.7 on the top 30 bloggers under 21 bloggers and it helped grow my comment count in a big way, this was a natural review but if you get sponsored reviews that’s okay too, i have still a few reviews of my blogs here and there pending after that is done i will have better stats to explain here
Free Stuff
I gave away the free internet marketing videos a few days ago and i had alot of emails saying thank you, not only it grew my rss subscriber count but it gave me a few more extra points with my readers. Giving away relevant free stuff to your readers makes you a definite authority in your niche along come the great comments
