5 Ways to get readers to come to you

Isn’t getting readers just a pain in the ass?

It’s so hard to have people to come to you, specially when you have recently made a site. After all the sites that I’ve made and sold over and over again for 2 years or so, I think I have some valuable tips for ya’ll here. Now before you start reading, remember that these tricks/tips are based on my own experiments, so here we go, I hope these get you as much traffic as they got me.

Lists and Fully Loaded Pages

The more content the better the more that content is relevant and useful the more profitable. Having all the information a user might need on a certain topic on just one page is just so much more better then having it distributed into parts and spread all over a blog/site. I used to think making Parts of a topic is better to get readers but if you try to make just one post with all the informations your readers/traffic could need for a while converts much better then the usual.

If you take a look at sites like Smashing Magazine and Make use of you’ll know what I’m talking about here, its all about giving the topic at hand everything you have, that’s why content is king not the sequels ;)

Interactivity – 3rd Party Addons

This can be content or widgets or news tickers or whatever, as long as it adds that little something extra to your site which is not focused on making money but giving your readers more information it will always be profitable in the long run through other methods, but as long as you’re making content, focus on making content not passing off affiliates as unique content.

One really good example of 3rd party addons is the Crunchbase widget, you can add info of just about anybody online, any company or person it works like a charm, it helps describe more about the people/company you might be talking about in a topic.

For example, I just mentioned crunchbase which is owned by techcrunch, so the widget would be:

Media

Wallpapers, Videos, Tutorails, How-to’s , etc..

Thats how you become an authority in a particular niche, providing more mediums of content on your niche attracts even more genres of traffic within that niche. To be honest this should be the very last step but I tend to gather/create media before I start making any project.

One good example here could by blogging sites and wordpress themes such as my wordpress themes.

Products/Store

After all that, the last touch on your niche sites/blogs has to be unique niche products on a store system on your site/blog. This is the last attraction because if you’ve done the rest, then by now you must be receiving alot of traffic and must be considered a sort of an authority in your niche so the best way to make this traffic soar is a store, and of course affiliates, affiliates only make your traffic increase even faster, your visitors already have the info/articles now they can make money off of your site as well.

Great post with lots of good information. I was told that doing the posts in sequels converts to more pageviews. I dont know but both could be equally effective.
