My First Adwords Campaign and it’s results.
By in Adwords, Affiliate Marketing on 8th August 2008As corny as it may sound, my first adword campaign wasn’t all that good, at the moment I have more then 20 running successfully but to fully cover this topic I need to post all stats here. So, when I made my first Adwords Ad, and tried to smack it on to some affiliates on a landing page, I got the lowest conversions that was mostly becuase of non targeted traffic and the fact that I was using a Text ad, in my opinion Image ADs work much better then Text ads because you can write much more on an Image ad rather then a text ad, given that fact, here are the stats of my first campaign:
And from 11$ of advertising I only made $4.50 back, to be honest that is a sort of a good conversion since it was my first time, right now I’m investing only xx and getting back xxxx, all from better traffic targetting and strategies.
I never completely rely on Adwords every time I make a landing page now, it has to have the following:
- Convincing benefits
- Strong Language
- Proof/Testimonials
- Some free media
And before running an adword campaign I make sure I do the following to that page:
- Stumble it
- Digg it
- Submit to other SB sites
- Post it on forums
- Get it known on myspace..facebook..through bulk submission deals..etc
- Blog about it here IF its relevant.
Next time, I’ll show you guys how you could make 100$ in 2 days by investing $0 ZERO. Yep you read it right. Tune in tomorrow for the big tip!

Even though you may not have gotten a profit from adwords this time around, you still managed to take out some experience from the effort. Next time you will do much better! Good luck!

To have succes using adwords, you need to learn how to tweak your campaigns. Although adwords have been really expensive, it is still possible to make profit. I higly suggest you read a little on the adwords subject (just google it, tons of things out there on the subject).
You first need to see the results of your campaign, then you keep tweaking it for maximum performance. A high CTR ( Click through rate) will, give you a lower CPC (Cost per click).
Also, remember, to try mispelled keywords: eg. Earn money may cost at least $5.00 per click where as Earn mony only cost $0.70. There are free tools that can find common typos for keywords. This could really lower your CPC!
