- Using relevant forums to get some traffic your way is a good way to get traffic as well, even if it’s a signature link.
- Myspace/Facebook could be optimized to send traffic your way if you are a big mover and shaker on there, it’s all about your influence on your target audience on a given medium.
- Contests are always a good choice if you can pull together some noticable sponsors, everyone benefits from contests, the author, the applicants and the sponsors, it’s a perfect win/win situation.
Mass Social Bookarmking – Check out my post on hellotxt, it’s really helpful.
Link based
- Link exchange is a good way to get some traffic coming in – long term.
- Article submission, guest posts and various other methods can be used to get traffic as well.
- Any/Every link counts, so never stop link building, every link sends atleast 10 uniques a month avg, the more unique links you get the more overall traffic you’ll have.
Resources
- Free tools and resources are really popular among our community of webmasters, free resources get links and traffic at the same time.
- FAQs, Descriptions and Instructions also get alot of references in other sites/blogs, these are a good way to get pr along with traffic and links.
- How-to type articles are something that seem to be on a rise these days, from technology to food to music, anything you can think of, if you’re good at it, explain it, you just might make it!

There is an overabundance of sites listed here, and those 4 main ones are listed at the beginning. Possibly in the near future, one of the others on the list will fit into the category of those top 4 as it becomes useful.
