Well, it’s not supposed to be just a blog, with all the new blogs poppin’ up these days, blogging has evolved to a whole new level now, if you don’t have something unique along side the blog, you won’t make it in the blogging industry.
Almost every popular blog has that something unique on it, that makes visitors coming back for more everyday, this can be anything from services, tools, resources or just free stuff, as for mine, I try to do just about everything here, services, tools, resources and free stuff, there is absolutely no limit to what you can add on to your blog, the more the better, along with good content if you have some of these tihngs you have alot more user interaction on the site itself rather then just with the content, as far as I know this is how authority is defined, having good info on a topic as well as the resoruces to back it up.
If you have a blog in a niche which doesn’t exactly have any resources then you have to get creative with it, this can even be a photo gallery or video gallery. As long as you are covering every aspect of the niche, you will end up successful or atleast moderately rich.
Here are my basics of a good money making blog:
- Good content
Not just articles on more information on the niche but comparisons, reviews and how-to’s as well as interviews or reviews or other competitors in the niche helps alot. - Resources
Getting some free resources is hard for any niche out there but if you can pull it off then you will definitely have a noticable increase in your traffic/interaction. - Uniqueness
Uniqueness is not defined by a unique theme but by either content or resources you offer that no body else does, this could be anything, even a weekly article that gives a new perspective on the niche, a weekly digest in other words. - Ebooks and Tutorials
Well Ebooks are really hard to sell in my opinion but they are GREAT for promotion, if you give them away for free that is, like a little taster for your blog in other words. Free unique ebooks and tutorials are a great asset to any blog.

There sure are many elements coming into play on various sites as individuals provide what they desire to provide. Uniqueness is a large issue, but it can be tough to pin down as many individuals are using quite a few common phrases or review the same content regularly.

I agree in the ever competitive blogosphere we are in today, the only way we can outdo the competition is to be “unique”. I’m in the midst of coming out with my own ebook as a promotional material as what you have suggested in your article.

Content is key! I’m glad to see it’s listed as #1. While all of the aspects you’ve mentioned are important, the content is the main focus of your blog. Whether you write or post videos, maintaining useful, informative, entertaining ideas is extremely important.

I have been blogging for almost one year, now. I believe that I have good content for my niche, and I can see where videos, ebooks and tutorials would help make my blog more unique.

Nice post. I agree with you. The blogosphere has grown tremendously and there is a lot of competition out there. Being unique and creative goes along way.

A good money making blog is a blog that is not related to making money and rather monetizes a niche where it is considered an expert. That’s what I think works best. Writing about making money is such a pain
