Blogging has grown to become a mainstream, and almost every internet user today has a blog. Through this niche you will know what to write on your posts, as well as which photos and videos to upload. Choosing a niche is also important especially when you want to go for a commercial blog, since this is where relevant incoming traffic to your site will come pouring in. Your niche must be something you are interested in, or must be related to the products or services that you plan to promote.
2. Decide on a name. The name of your blog must be catchy and memorable, so as to help your audiences remember and go back to it again and again. Most bloggers come up with names related to their niche, which you should also consider since this will represent your blog in the social bookmarks, networks and communities that you will join in later on.
3. Sign up for a blog account. Once you have thought of a name and a niche, then you can start creating your own blog account. There are many blog software programs which you can use on your blog, such as Blogger, WordPress, LiveJournal, and Joomla, and each of them have their own set of unique features. But you should choose the one which provides you with the best functions, as well as the ones tailored for commercial blogging. For starters, you can begin with a personal blog that is usually free of charge.
4. Get a domain. This is where step number 2 becomes highly important. If you want your blog to look more professional as well as exclusively, then you must get your own FTP and domain name. I fully agree with you everything you posted and especially on the "start posting" tip as I have noticed that most bloggers start by looking after their design instead of
content. What they don't realize is that to start getting traffic they should
write quality and unique content. Most of those get bored from blogging even before they start !!!

I’m afraid I disagree that the first step is determining a niche. For new bloggers, they should be committed to learning the craft before they start deciding on what they will write about.
For your first efforts, just write about what you know. Don’t worry about keeping it on topic, that will come in time.
