You proved that change can happen. You built an unprecedented grassroots organization in all 50 states that brought a record number of people into the political process — many for the first time, many for the first time in a long time.
I’m take a break from all the stress and tension of blogging and making money and all that and take some time to talk about the biggest historical event that went down in my life time, Barack Obama’s win in the 2008 elections by 338 electoral votes last night, I was up at 4am (Yemen time) watching the whole thing live, crossing my fingers and hoping for the best, after 3 amazingly long hours Obama won by a land slide and made his acceptance speech in Illinois, that was undoubtedly the best moment ever, even though I couldn’t be a part of it due to some stupid reasons I was really excited about the whole thing.
It’s not only the fact that now we have an African American as the future president but the fact that it doesn’t matter where you come from and what your circumstances are, all that matters is what you are capable of doing and how motivated you are in doing that, I would also like to mention that one of the biggest reasons I supported Obama was and is still because he grew up with a father figure in his life, well mostly, still came up as the person that everyone can look up to and be elected as the leader of a nation where he was over criticized and almost always put down and told that it can’t be done, well it happened, it’s the beginning of a new era.
I guess my no excuses policy worked out for this year after all and this was way before I even realised that Barack Obama was running for president, just remember, if you are motivated enough, you’ll get whatever you want.
I could go on and on explaining just why him coming from a really handicaped background made me support him so much but everyone will read that soon enough in my interview at YoungMoney , which is due by december.
