We have all read about the different tips and tricks on how to improve the performance of your blog, ranging from adding the right content to promoting it in different network communities. But of course there are some things that you should not do to your blog, for these simple mistakes can put an end to your blog’s budding future.
Here are 5 things you should avoid doing on your blog:
Do NOT Write Senseless Content
This is the number one rule when setting up a blog: provide quality content. By this I mean you must come up with original, informative and tactful articles which can satisfy the interest of your audiences. A lot of blogs have ended up dead easily because they upload only eye candy, meaning fancy pictures and images, but the content is rather senseless. Remember, despite a plain, white background, a blog with valuable content will live longer than that of a fanciful yet senseless blog.
Do NOT be Too Comprehensive
Yes, your blog is the place where you can discuss about the things that interest you, but if you plan to set up a business blog, you must avoid getting carried away by your emotions and rather stick to providing the valuable information your audiences need. Being too comprehensive would make your blog look off-tangent from your chosen niche, thus you lessen the chances of getting organic traffic. It would also make it hard for your audiences to figure out what your niche exactly is.
Do NOT Make Your Marketing Spiels too Obvious
Yes, you have set up a blog to earn profits. But your audiences will easily get bored reading a blog that talks about nothing but selling, sign ups and commissions (unless you are doing a blog under that niche). As said earilier, try to make your blog sound informative, where your readers can get news and ideas which they can use. Through this you will earn more revenue, not to mention avid followers.
Do NOT Place Copied Material
One big mistake some bloggers do to generate profits is by copying and pasting someone else’s published content on their own site. This only poses trouble for your blog since republishing without the author’s content is definitely a copywright issue. Try to keep up with original content, otherwise your blog might get banned by Google or you may not get your commissions especially when you signed up for AdSense.
Do NOT Start Heated Arguments at the Comments Section
Some people may say negative things about your posts and you can find them at the comments’ section. But rather than answering back, why not take these negative views positively and respond with a thank you note or a subtle redeeming remark. This way you get to reflect on the challenges you face on your blog, know what your audiences want, and in the end make your blog better page to visit.
