Benefits of Practicing White Hat SEO

With high traffic of course is the room for more profit, so that’s what website owners are aiming for.

Your website can change your life for the better, but it all lies on how you’re going to use it. There are actually a lot of ways on how you can achieve high page rankings and adequate organic traffic, but you must also be aware that not all these methods can bring the best to your site. But which practices should you follow exactly?
White Hat vs. Black Hat
There are two common kinds of SEO practices present in the online business, white hat and black hat SEO. White hat SEO mainly focuses on quality content, the use of social media and link building strategies, as well as interacting with human users in order to boost up their page rankings in search engines. Black hat SEO meanwhile work on the more dubious steps such as spamming, keyword stuffing, hidden text links and page cloaking, as these techniques are designed to be more search engine friendly, but distorts the quality of the sites themselves.
A lot of SEO experts discourage the practice of black hat SEO mainly because they only end up to be annoying to real users and at the same time disrupt the algorithm of search engines. These techniques also open doors to internet crimes such as hacking, since sites are make use of scripts which are vulnerable to spyware, worms and other malicious software. Hence if you want to stay safe and secure with your online business, then it’s best to stick with white hat SEO.
The Benefits of White Hat SEO
Following the methods that fall under white hat SEO can bring in great wonders to your online business, since they are proven to be safe and effective in your online activities. Contrary to black hat SEO, white hat SEO provides benefits such as:
A trusted reputation in the niche community. Since white hat SEO follows regular updates and up-to-date quality content, you develop a good reputation in your chosen niche. Your target audience will then become regular subscribers to your site since they are assured to get fresh, hot-off-the-grill content composed of credible information-which is exactly what they need.
A strong fan base. By the use of white hat SEO, you are encouraged to create profiles in different social media sites, hence you get to interact with people interested in your niche. From there you will be able to build a support group who will not only check out your site regularly, but also recommend it to their friends and other end users who have relative interest in your niche topic.
Being in good terms with search engines. Remember that search engines love fresh content, and having seen that your site is regularly updated and properly maintained, your site is hence saved from being banned or terminated. Moreover, these regular updates can boost the page ranking of your site, given that it always showcases new ideas and information which most people are looking for.
White hat SEO takes you to the important people in your niche. Because of the techniques you have followed, you won’t look spammy in the eyes of the big people in your niche. They will be of course enticed to talk and seek your help for related projects, hence more money and business relationships in the process. You also become a target of advertisers who want to provide you with items to market on your site. Since you come up with relevant niche content, these advertisers will be more than happy to do business with you, since they can see that you are a trusted entity in your chosen niche community.
More targeted traffic! This is what you’ve always wanted, being in the online business. Through white hat SEO, you are able to catch targeted traffic and lead them towards your site. With more targeted traffic, you not only earn more profits, but also boost your page ranking status to the top.

It would be good to think that the black hatters will be ousted. In the meantime the SERPs are infested with rubbish link spammed pages that make the search engines increasingly less useful. I wish them well

@ Chris – most business owners go with White Hat because it's safe in the long run.

White Hat SEO is safer and good investment for long-term.
Black Hat SEO may work for you in the beginning but once google catches up with your techniques, you may as well say goodbye to your site!
