Alright, you may be thinking, “Come on, this has been done and overdone more times than I can count!” and you’d be correct. This is not something new, BUT, sometimes the old hat ideas still have life left in them. People oftentimes dismiss things like this because it’s not new, sexy and promising untold riches while you sleep.
Today’s Make Money Mondays (MMM) post is a little reminder about an old idea for many of you, but a new one for those who haven’t been around the block yet. Basically it’s very simple. Much like driving traffic to an affiliate program like Amazon’s, you send people to related products up for auction on eBay. One of the best things about this type of referral are the ever changing auctions, types of things up for auction and the easy fit for just about any site you have in your portfolio.
What are the commissions? Up to 75% of the revenue generated from winning bids (if you generate winning bid revenue in excess of $3,000,000). The base starting point is 50% of the winning bid revenue from the auction. Of course this doesn’t sound like much, I know, but it can really add up. Throw up a review site about Pez dispensers, refer traffic over to eBay auctions of Pez dispensers and BAM!, you’ve got a nice little revenue stream for simply driving some traffic to a review site. What’s more is I’ve found the conversions to be easier to auctions compared to other offers and banner ads on sites. Psychologically, I think it’s easier for people to click on an eBay auction result.
One method of making money online to consider is building a site specifically designed to take advantage of eBay auction referral opportunities. There are several scripts and plugins that help you do this with one of the more popular ones being Build A Niche Software (BANS). The creators of the software have recently released a guide they built detailing their process.
A guy named Mark Hansen who has been helping people with the BANS software for a while has built a website around the BANS software, giving people the tools to make the most of BANS. As a live tutorial, Mark is building a BANS site using the exact steps laid out in the newly released BANS Guide. The great thing about this project is you can follow the site’s progress as it’s being built. He will then give the site away to one of his blog readers.
Check out Mark’s blog to see the site building in action and read about his contest. You can visit it here: Build a Niche Store Guide Contest.
If you aren’t familiar with Build A Niche Software, you should check it out. It’s not very expensive and can be a great way to build a passive income site. You’re probably not going to score dump trucks full of money while you sit on the beach, but put 5 or 10 of these babies online in the right niche and you should be able to generate a few thousand dollars a month in total without much work. That’s a nice start on a solid base income.

I'm not really a fan of eBay and bans, but this article made me think about it

People do it because it works. It's an old idea but it's still an amazingly easy and effective idea of making money!

Make money on eBay, I still see a few television commercials advertising cd’s to help you “make money on eBay”. As you say it is an old concept, but in the grand scheme of things its relatively new. There is definitely money to be made on eBay, especially if you know what you are doing.
Till then,
Jean

BANS can be really profit-pulling, and with very little work. The problem however is still getting some serious traffic to your sites. No traffic-no money. I still think this is a nice way to start especially for new money makers, as they can concentrate solely on marketing. Also, I believe there is a uch better conversion on Ebay selling, than many other products you can sell for commission.

I'm looking to get a live stream of eBay auctions on my website concerning the product that my company sells. Does anyone know how I can do this? Is it a simple script that I can type in? I'm not really interested in anything I would have to pay for, so please don't post it if that is the case

Keywords are important. Try to think like a buyer. What words would they search for? Not just what you think the right keywords might be. Do some completed auction searches for the same types of items and see what titles have been used for items that have sold the highest.

Another trick is to create an eyecatcher to post for your gallery picture. You can do it in Paint. Start with a square, and paint it all bright yellow.

If works if there are a lot of the same things selling. People see the same pictures on a page, then all of a sudden they see something different. It draws their eye to it and a lot of time they will click on the ad just to check it out.

I previously promoted the ebay affiliate program through cj.com and didn't have much luck. Now that ebay offers their own affiliate program through their site, perhaps it can a better money maker. I already tried signing up and I am just waiting for a response to my application.

I agree with you, but must be careful with SEO… google might not like sites/blogs that are just used for this ebay auction thing… I put on an ebay feed on one of my website and was severely penalized by google!

i know that we can make money online but i this this way is much better than any other

Still don't like the words "the right nice". That is often the hard part. A profitable niche is hard to get into, and a why choose a niche only bringing in cents. It has been done before and many have made zero money on this. But still I believe it's possible, but not as easy as it sounds.

I was making some good money using BANS when I started but Google started slapping us around because they weren't giving enough content about the products and the income started to dwindle until it was almost stopped.
I let them slide for a long time but over the past few weeks I have been modifying my BANS pages so that they are more unique and with more content. I think it will make a huge difference.
I am using the Build A Niche Store Guide to help me do it correctly, as I didn't do such a great job doing it on my own.

Ebay Partner Network is awesome, so many tools and promotional material.
Niches are easier to come by than you think. One thing to keep in mind that while a search term may appear competitive (ie. a lot of sites found in google search), it may actually be very easy – I use a free plugin called SEOQuake which is very helpful.

Unfortunately, the BANS software leaves a large footprint for Google to follow as most BANS sites are nothing more than pages of Ebay links with little or no true content. Sites like this get deindexed on a regular basis. While I'm sure you can make some money with it, you'll need to modify the typical BANS template and provide some decent content. (This comes from experience as a number of "standard" BANS sites were deindexed almost overnight)

I have dabbled in review sites but I would usually link to the manufacturer or the service provider I have never really tried the auction sites as like you said it seemed like old news. Might have to give it a look though as those commission rates seem pretty generous.

Dang getting cash at home has sometimes on the occasion been very hard; a lot of times I purchase some ebooks and work from those. although they are extremely expensive! Trying to make money without any sort of job experience is even harder. Some stuff usually are so ineffective, but this post really helped. Great Information!
