Thoughts from last month
Last month went by way too quickly. I have to apologize for the sparse posting in November. I’ve been cranking away on a couple of projects and just got down to the end of the day on many days with no time left to post. I promise to do better in December. I already have a number of posts outlined and scheduled for the coming weeks.
As far as income goes, last month was a bit better. Sold a couple of banner ads and did tradeout with one advertiser, so that was decent. Kontera continues to SUCK. I left the earnings on the report so you can see what they’re doing for me.
What I’m working on this month
I mentioned last month that I was looking for something more in blog monetization. I haven’t figured out what it is yet, but I’m not convinced the traditional banner ad is the way to go. They tend to be ineffective for advertisers and tough to sell as blog owners. I feel like we’re on the verge of something new in monetization, but I haven’t figured out the direction yet. I’m interested to hear how any of you are monetizing your blogs or other web properties.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Kontera sucks. I've dropped them now and will be using Infolinks for the next couple of months to see if this does any better. (couldn't do any worse!)

This looks like a reasonable income for hard work. I agree with you that Kontera seems to be some kind of mistake here. 0.10 is so small income that probably this one is not even worth our attention. But with all the others – great work. It is visible that you did your job well.

Yes I think it is time to finally completely drop Kontera. For money like that, it is not even worth the time to check the stats. You should look more into related affiliate programs. There are various products/services to promote that would benefit your readers. You can even dedicate entire posts to specific products.

I think you are doing a great job with your blog but it does seem that you are putting in a lot of time and effort to make a relatively small amount of money.
IMHO there are way too many marketing and SEO blogs around to enable all but the best to make a lot of money.
It would be interesting in future if you detailed the hours worked and money spent so that you could show your profit. After all thats what counts. I could do £2 million in sames and would be in big trouble if my overhad was£3 million.

To boost income you might want to invest some money back into link building and other marketing efforts. That way, your blog will continue to grow over the years.

I read somewhere that if you are making any money on blogging you are in the top 20% … now, I don't know at what point you move up to the 15% and so on up. I think that once you start to make some money, then it just begins to grow until one day you are suddenly making a four or five figure income. Keep up the good work.

Yeah! I would be tickled with that monthly income for now. It is fun to see others making money on their blog, it gives us little blogger's hope. Heck I was just thrilled to finally get a page 1 ranking on my little blog world. We appreciate you sharing what is working and what isn't as far as monetization goes. I will keep a watch on what you come up with that works better than banner ads.

I use Adsence, DT and I have banner from my internet provider. So in total I only have four ads and the last two are "hidden" witch means that thay look like I personally recommend them.

From what i see, you made only 0.10 from Kontera . Why are you still keeping it ?! Try tweaking adsense or infolinks instead.

Great work, i already use that method but mistake for adsense, worthed for LinkXL, inLinks, TNX and blogpost reviews, my monthly income just for about $180, still looking and keep hard work and never give up,lol.

It is hard first, but then I think that with some link building you could get better rankings and more money, so. The key i: don´t stop till you get enough (like michael jackson song!).
