The 4 Hour Workweek A Book You Need To Read This WeekendI like to think of myself as an avid reader, but truth be told, I’m really more of a book collector and starter. I don’t know how many books I’ve bought, but never cracked open. And I have just as many that I’ve only read the first couple chapters of. One of those is The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People. I swear I’ve started that book AT LEAST half a dozen times. Yet only made it through the first two habits (Be Proactive and Begin With The End In Mind).

So it may be surprising to find that I have come across a book I’ve actually read nearly 4 times from cover to cover. It’s The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich by Timothy Ferriss. Great great book, and one you need to pick up and read this weekend.

Why should you read it? Simple. It will change your perspective on working, retirement, and life in general. I’m not a big self-help guru follower, but this one absolutely changed my paradigm of how I approach my businesses and what I’m working towards/for.

A couple of important things that I found shifted in my mindset:

  1. Time and location freedom are what I’m striving towards. The cool thing is Internet related businesses lend themselves perfectly to this.
  2. Retirement is not something to work 40 or 50 years for, then enjoy. It’s something you should be enjoying NOW! I’ve become a subscriber to the mini retirement mindset.

The other interesting thing that has changed is my view of money and what I’m really after. I thought for a long time I needed enough money to not have to earn any more money to be able to retire and enjoy life. Now I’m realizing what I’m really after is to be able to live and experience things that only the “rich” can. And that those things are really not out of reach.

I won’t give any more away. Grab a copy and see what you think. The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich
