Coming up with new ideas to blog is always hard, I know what I am talking about when i say writer’s block is the worst thing that can happen to a blogger. I came up with this idea when i had nothing else to blog about and nothing I did to remove the blog was working, when you have nothing to blog about its better to focus on monetization of the blog, If you are already with an Affiliate network, then you should browse their inventory to find something relevant to your blog’s niche, look through the site, then write a review about it on your blog filled with your affiliate links!

This way not only will you get more:

  1. Serps
  2. Content
  3. Indexed Pages
  4. Traffic
  5. Money
  6. Readers

…but you’ll also get another income stream from your blog, having affiliate ads are okay but reviewing a product often if not always makes a sale. I know that I’ve bought 80% of the things I read about in my feed reader. Its about the trust and authority that you have established with your readers that will get you tons of conversions through affiliates.

3 Must Join Affiliate Networks

Mar 21st 2008 - Posted by Ahson Rafiq

Lately i found affiliate marketing to be much more interesting then any PPC program including adsense, I know that other webmasters find creative and fresh ways to make money through affiliate marketing but until i tried that myself i didn’t really knew just how fun it could be, affiliate marketing is progressing like no other advertising program on the net today and the offers these programs come up with are nothing short of amazing.

Every time i looked over my affiliate programs because of the same ol’ excuse of not having enough time at hand to “explore my opportunities” with Affiliate networks, but once you get a taste of what they have to offer you would be addicted! So without any more wait here are my top 3 affiliate networks of choice that you have to join! :D

NeverblueAds

They have large selection of advertisers on alot of entertainment type niches such as ringtones, fun cards and more this network works great with the majority of niches such as Making Money Online, Free Stuff, Ringtones, Gaming Sites,Biz Opps and alot more.

They provide a great selection of banners and links with every program and the options for incentive and non incentive programs so that makes it really flexible, I have yet to try out the incentive programs. Neverblue Ads has the best support that i have seen on any network yet so i highly recommend it. The main reason i love neverblue ads has to be the kick ass free stuff offers, who wouldn’t like to get free stuff? It just makes affiliate marketing that much easier!

For those of you Commission Junction affiliates out there in the blogging world, you will want to take notice of the email you received from eBay today. It announces their new global affiliate platform called the eBay Partner Network. It begins April 1st and will no longer be run through Commission Junction. You do have some time to get your links changed because they plan on running both CJ and the eBay Partner Network throughout the month of April to give you some time to make the switch. They are also offering a 5% bonus for those who have made the switch during the month of April and have their sites tracked through the eBay Partner Network. Making the switch early can really make you a nice bonus, especially if you already are a steady earner with their program. Who wouldn’t want to make a 5% bonus for just changing your links?

Don’t worry, they are still going to have all the great tools and benefits you had while partnering with eBay through Commission Junction. The pay structure will remain the same and you will still be able to use the Editor Kit and affiliate API, along with the flexible destination tool.

They have also added some new features that look promising for anyone who is trying to make money blogging by being an affiliate of eBay. They are going to offer more detailed reporting for their program as well which will allow us to know where to focus our efforts even more as bloggers who want to profit with this program. There will also be easy global registration to multiple countries with just one click to register to all that interest you.

They will also provide their affiliates with all new banners that are targeted and have many advanced media features. You’ll also see new landing page optimization and even geo-targeting capabilities to help you earn even more money with their program.

They say to watch your email for April 1st, as they are sending out information with detailed information as to how to go about getting your links changed and what to do from here.

Review Based Affiliate Sales. My Report.

Mar 2nd 2008 - Posted by Ahson Rafiq

I’m not big on affiliates because i haven’t had much experience in the field but I wanted more stats before i can jump in the game so a few weeks ago i reviewed the how to be a rockstar freelancer e-book, and within a couple days i was in the top10 serps for all keywords regarding “how to be a rockstar freelancer”.

Now its almost a month later, i finally made 1 sale via the review i made here, at some point a week ago i stopped working on my reviews of other products to get some affiliate commission but i think there might still be some way i can make this work.

The only stats i have at the moment are that reviews really encourage people to buy a certain product/service this and the amount of revenue on your end depends on how good the review was of the site and whether you are being truthful or not, besides the revenue its still good to review other products with your aff link because that way you can still have potential sales within your blog just waiting to pop out and surprise you at any moment :)

Tip of the day: Review a product/service with your aff link anyway, it may just prove profitable in the long run.

Making Money with Affiliates on Steroids

Feb 6th 2008 - Posted by Ahson Rafiq

Alot of people are talking about this and the rest are doing it, ad networks are a really great way to make money through affiliates using the affiliate links with good anchors can mislead people but as long as it makes a sale for you thats all that counts usually people make sites with affiliate links with titles like hostgator coupon, if you want to you can try to promote the website through adnetworks but why not just use the main link to promote the main site rather then spend more money to make a new site with a new design then promote it..

In every way its better to send traffic and/or promote the main affiliate link through ad networks. I am gonna go ahead and contact a few ad networks with information on using affiliate links while setting up a campaign. Lets see how this goes, subscribe to my updates for further updates on affiliates on steroids ;)

PepperJam and Neverblue Ads - My new initiative

Jan 16th 2008 - Posted by Ahson Rafiq

So i got tired of Adsense since they closed the adsense referrals a few days ago so now i am widening my affilate network base and lately i’ve seen these two in blogs alot so I applied a few days ago and am still waiting to be accepted by the way, so whenever i get accepted into this will be starting a series of posts that involve me blogging about how to make money with these two specific Affiliate programs using any tactics at hand :D.

PepperJam Network

First of all PepperJam is free to join for everyone and its fairly new so you have have a high chance of being accepted!

Moving on, PepperJam has a really good number of advertisers with them that makes me want to sign up with them, these brandnames are really easy to sell if you have the right pitch in my opinion.

Here is a list of their advertisers (Source : PJ Network)

Plus it does have a sexy UI for publishers see below.
Here are some screenshots i got from JohnChow

  • Major Research backs up the network!
  • Pepperjam Network contains a knowledge vault, which is exclusive to Pepperjam affiliates. The vault contains exclusive access to a list of tools and educational resources used by Super Affiliates.

…I’ll find out more when i get on the inside..

The Pros and Cons of Blogging for Money

You Blog, it’s become a part of your life (addictive isn’t it), and you spend a lot of time doing it. Should you earn from Blogging? How should you earn, and will turning your skills into a money spinner affect the integrity of your blog? These are all important questions to consider for the average blogger. In offering some tips, I am certainly not prescribing any course of action, because I believe the choices we all make in this area are highly personal ones. I would like, however, to point out some of the pitfalls I have experienced in this area and some of the things I have found to work.

The first question you should ask yourself is how am I going to earn money from Blogging? There are two main methods, Direct and Indirect. Direct income is best described as ‘Pay per Blog’, in that you get paid a fixed dollar amount for providing blog content for another person. It is a good way to build up a fixed amount of money, and a certain amount of experience, in the paid blogging industry. It is low risk, as you will be engaged by a third party and paid either per blog or per time period, say per month. There are no costs to yourself, such as web hosting or other advertising costs, and you will post onto a forum with an existing readership. Visit DigitalPoint to start searching for paid blogging positions.

The Second Method is to utilize your blog to earn cash for you. This will probably take the form of Advertising. The most common ad-program used by bloggers is Google Ad sense, but there are many others. For a great Introduction to this subject see Problogger.

When you have decided on your method of income generation, I believe it is time to ask yourself the question, should I really utilise my blog to earn income? Many people would argue that this is the first question you should ask, but I disagree. I believe that many bloggers, who are not already making money, need to know how before they can ask should I? Next time, the dangers of becoming a money blogger. TTFN

Affiliate Marketing For Starters

Nov 29th 2007 - Posted by Ahson Rafiq

How i wish i knew SEO while starting out in the MMO world, affiliate marketing would’ve been a piece of cake…ah well..lets get on with the post then shall we?

** Note : While working with affiliates i suggest any affiliate company out there EXCEPT CJ.com, this is due to personal bad experiences many sales that were never recorded and i just don’t tolerate that **

This article is targetted at telling you the best ways to go about with Affiliates without spending a dime, because..lets face it..while starting out you won’t have much cash to work with anyway and whatever cash you do have must be invested towards the backend (server..scripts..domains..etc). Now these are my tried and tested methods that i have used and had alot of success with as well.

SEO, is the best approach towards Affiliate Marketing, now a good pitch towards your customers would do good too but this is easier and cheaper, lets say you are an affiliate of a Hardware Supplier and you are selling products on your site or in other words leading them to the suppliers site, the best way to get POTENTIAL BUYERS is to search for them, don’t go around spending money on PPC yet, heres what you should do:

1- Google for terms like

Forum - Where do i buy hardware online?

forum-where-do-i-buy-hardware-online-google-search_1196368490812.png

Now, if you skim through the results you will find alot of forums “hopefully” and you need to post your links there, register as a member and say something like..

“Hey there! I buy my hardware and blahblah.com and they have great prices! You should go there too!”
This will get you targeted visitors only, the only people who will click the links will be potential customers, quality over quantity.

You can try the same technique with other sites as well, this is the best kind of marketing tactic that i have ever used because i don’t have to spend much money this way and that makes me really happy, you can pull in some really good customers as well as get a-LOT of link love to your inner pages and slowly you can add more interactivity to your affiliate site and have even more users coming in for more then just hardware..maybe hardware reveiws..etc?

Now google is not the only place you can do this try google search and technorati or even Yahoo Answers which in my opinion is THE best place to promote these products, here are screenshots of those queries, blogs/forums are good place to promote your products/site because they let you post on the same page as the question whereas most sites do-not have a user-based commenting system or a thread system.

run blogsearch query..

run technorati query..

In my personal opinion, Marketing Pitches SUCK if the product/service isn’t good the customer won’t buy it any dang way!
