This month is turning out to be more profitable then the last one after the email problem was fixed, 8 days into the month and I’ve already sold 3 125×125 ads (on the right), that leaves only 2 spots (125×125), which are occupied by my affiliate banners at the moment (which aren’t performing that great at the moment, for some reason). Other then that I’m extremely happy that I’ve hit the 500 subscriber mark, the next post about my subscribers will be when i hit 1000 subscribers and when I hit 1000 subscribers there will be even more freebies along with the announcement post.

Let’s talk a little about blog monetization now, a few days ago I posted an article on how Lisa announced her new monetization scheme, that made me think, If i can’t achieve my blog’s full earning potential then this won’t be much of a blog offering good tips on how to make money blogging, now would it? So, I went to LinkXL (full review coming up soon) and completed any steps left then made sure that buyers would be able to buy links at this blog. I know this is a red flag at google, but frankly PR doesn’t mean much to me anymore after google teased me for sitelinks and not just that, i was left out on this pagerank update as well, yep, I’m still a PR4 here, after so much linkbuilding and work, all i got out of it was stronger serps but not a higher pagerank. I’d rather get a stronger technorati rank to earn more money. My current technorati rank : 17,636 and Authority : 337 with 708 reactions. Well, it’s been quite hard for me atleast, this blog started growing really big time near the end of january and since then I wanted to see what would I get if I actively tried to get more RSS readers, after several offers of email and rss subscription I finally have more then 500 rss readers.

Anyway, I think Lisa has done it big time viral with her backend advertising tactic after offering an ad spot on her lower back (way lower back) for a mere $100k, personally, I think models can get more for such advertising, body advertisements aren’t new to the media but this is more like Blog monetization that’s why it’s a new one even for long time bloggers such as John chow. Since there aren’t many attractive bloggers, I’m supporting Lisa and her cause here!

Either way, monetization tactics are always evolving so much that its hard to keep up sometimes.So, kudos to Lisa and let’s hope Kevin doesn’t get that spot for digg, that wouldn’t be much of a turn on having DIGG written at that certain place. (pun intended, again :p)

Every once in a while i like to spread some link love either links to good articles or resources, the most popular link love method is resources, such as wordpress themes, linking to these themes or compiling collections of themes with links would not only get you extra traffic through trackbacks but also alot of new potential readers as well and more serps come naturally with every post you make so it’s a win win situation.

Every niche has free resources, to be an authority in any niche you need to cover all aspects of that niche such as free and paid resources, breaking news, etc..

Usually link love is like a post with links to other articles with a short description of that article, although this is quite a nice way to get some trackback links but i don’t think it gives you the full effect of the trackback, compiling a list of articles will always perform way less then a list of free resources.

Giving out link love is good for a blog not only because it makes you an authority figure but also it gives your readers a fresh twist on the content, like mentioning another source of news and attention then yourself, basically.

A few weeks ago i stopped getting emails from my readers through the contact form, i thought its because i was not doing as well as i was before, i tried to use the contact form myself and found out that the server had a function disabled, which was enabled around 15 mins before this post and I’ve tested it as well.

So, once again I’m sorry about the inconvinience, and a note about this month’s blog income report, it will be much less then last month’s since none of my advertisers could’ve contacted me, the listings at other sites about advertising all linked to my contact form (which wasn’t working). so, yeah i guess, live and learn

Make sure your contact form is working by using it once or twice every once in a while.

Envy Blogging is the term i use to define when a blogger creates content similar to an already established and popular blog online in hopes of attaining the same traffic over a short period of time. At first it’s pretty harmless and well intentioned, like giving out their own opinion on the matter and leaving trackbacks to get the traffic to come towards them, as soon as that starts working for them, it gets hard trying to keep up with the ferquence of the content coming their way, the work tht they have to put into content now is much harder and before they know it they are copying quotes and important paragraphs from those blogs onto their own and making it their own content and at some point even this becomes harder, letting your content creating abilities fade away is the worst thing a blogger can ever hope for, the moment you actually don’t have anything to say or don’t have the will to write more is when a blogger becomes a spammer, this is where harmless opinions turn into spam, yep, this is how spam blogs are created. The ones that use your feed to copy your own content leaving the original blog a trackback.

Alot of bloggers can find spam links in their wp dashboard everyday that come from blogs that have copied their content without any permission.

Although i think blog envy can make really good bloggers over time if they keep at it and try to develop their own skills more but the most conversions that I have seen are for the worst.

Coming up with new ideas to blog is always hard, I know what I am talking about when i say writer’s block is the worst thing that can happen to a blogger. So far the topics that I have covered on the make money blogging area are advertising and selling your own products in a very simple and old fashion way, so now it’s time to explore other possibilities to make money blogging.

WP Auctions is a great free plugin that helps you put up auctions on your wordpress installation and allows you to have bids on the blog as they come, the bids and auctions are entered in your own database and you control every little detail on the auction. There are no 3rd parties involved here, that’s the most appealing part of this plugin to me at least.

Its a great way to auction of sites or domains or whatever you have that needs to be rid off in the most fluid way available today, auctions!

The part that I’d like to emphasize here is auctioning off domains and websites for the people who flip sites and domain as a profession while running a make money online blog, this is a perfect opportunity for you to engage your readers to be a part of your projects. Let’s say one of your readers buys one of your sites through the auction, then he’s mentioned in the next income report. This way he gets free publicity and is happy with what he/she bought from you.
