It’s really important if you dont make your blog out as a lesson by the toughest teahcer in school. If you can engage your readers in a conversation with provoking words then that’s all you need to make it big time in the blogging industry. Blogs are getting more and more popular the one with the most information suceeds with major success and fame.
Personally my conversational skills when it comes to articles sucks big time, I know that I’m the one writing the article here but at least I’m admitting my biggest flaw, I could make 3x more money if I could engage my readers in a conversation over each article. You can’t just bluntly ask people to comment on posts they don’t even care about completely reading now can you?
No matter how brilliant your website design is, if it is hard to reach the content of your site then your site is as useful as an empty shell. Here are some tips to improve the usability of your website to ensure it serves its functions optimally.
The first method is to make sure the typography of your content is suitable. If you have large blocks of text, make sure to use CSS to space out the lines accordingly. The longer a single line of text is, the greater the line-height of each line should be. Also, make sure the font size of your text is big enough to read easily. Some sites have 10-pixel-tall text in Verdana font; while that may look neat and tidy, you have to really strain your eyes to read the actual text.
Make it easy for visitors to find content that they want on your site. If you have thousands of articles on your site and a certain visitor wants to find one single article from that pile, you have to provide a feasible means to enable visitors to do that without hassle. Be it an SQL-driven database search engine or just a glossary or index of articles that you have, providing such a feature will make sure your visitors can use your site with ease.
Ensure that your site loads fast if you do not want to lose visitors. Most internet users will leave a website if it doesn’t load completely within 15 seconds, so make sure the crème de la crème of your website is delivered to the visitors as soon as possible to retain their attention.
Last of all, test each and every link on your site before it goes online. There is nothing more effective in tarnishing your professional image than broken links, so be very careful about that.
On the Internet, it is very possible to make money without selling any product. One way of doing so is through starting your own eZine, also known as an electronic newsletter.
In a nutshell, you send out your eZine issues on a periodical basis to your subscribers. The good part is that you have a flexible choice in automating the process of sending out your eZine issues for you or manually sending them on a periodical basis.
As an eZine publisher, not only can you easily achieve the benefits a conventional newsletter publisher enjoys without having to chop down several trees in the process, you can easily and conveniently spread your marketing influence and expertise to your base of subscribers from the shoes of an ordinary individual.
In other words, you do not have to invest in expensive printing equipment, brick and mortar business, and hiring staff just to run your own newsletter publication, resulting in a lot of time, money and effort saved.
Basically, all you need to start your own eZine are an auto responder and broadcast feature to go with, enabling you to reach out to your massive subscribers whom you can regard as your prospects, too.
All in all, if you do not have the commitments of creating your own product for sale, then publishing your own online newsletter can be one of the wisest decisions you will ever make, given the benefits of impressive marketing power and influence it can offer to you.
It’s always productive to keep looking for blogroll links from fellow bloggers specially from blogs that are in the same niche as you. In this post I will use myself as an example, I emailed an owner of a blog in the same niche as me and asked for a link (no answer yet, since I just emailed her) and I found it kinda interesting the way I came to did all of that.
Yesterday, I posted my blog income report for the last month (may) as I usually do every month & that list was linked on other blogs like it always does, like in lists and other type of link love posts. I was listed in a list of bloggers at incomediary , In the list I found it kinda funny that Caroline beat me by 1$, so I thought why not just drop an email for a blogroll link (since I dont really give away my blog rolls easily to just anyone ). After I was done I started reading the list again and it made me realise that if I mailed her for a link because she has a great blog and is quite good at what she does too why can’t i mail others in the same list as well, they are in the same niche as me and they are successful as well, all the right reasons are there just waiting for me to pounce at em’ After going to a few sites on the list I saw a huge potential for some really strong backlinks and then I tried to figure out if it would work for other niches and blogs too, personally, I think this trick would work for just about anyone out there.
If you can find a top list of a sort online for your niche then I’d suggest contacting them for some link exchanging, never let a good chance for backlinks slip by ;).
Anyway, the top earners of May are (list by incomediary) :
I’ve learned this one thing in life, no matter what it is, never rely on it, no body and nothing. Complete independence in business is what I like to go for, if you are always relying on this one thing all the time at one point you will be addicted to it so much that you won’t realize it. I would like to put more pressure on my point that relying on anything for anything is wrong, the statement might sound a bit immature but it’s the only way i can talk about everything in one context.
Having multiple sources for something is something I consider “passable”, I mean, it’s okay if you have a backup for something if you are going to rely on something for something anyway, like someone said to me while I was starting out in the make money online world : “Don’t put all of your eggs in one basked”
I always look back on that saying while making decisions on just about anything in life whether its my personal life or business. One of my friends told me recently:
“Never let your emotions take over your decisions, your logic is what will always do good for you”
Now, if you think about it, a good pitch from a marketer might persuade you to have thoughts that would ultimately benefit the person trying to persuade you, but you need to think about everything thoroughly, would this be good for you logically or not?
I’m not saying being completely emotionless is right but using emotions and feelings about thigns to make decisions in life is wrong, there are tons of times where my logic had a better solution ultimately.
Think about what you are doing in your business before you do it. Never let your target market fool you.
Since I sold funktonic this month, i needed another project on my hand that would help me learn a new niche, so for june I’ll be blogging all about how to manage/maintain a theme gallery blog. Lately, I started cssFEDD, which is basically a theme gallery with other add ons that will come in later on. First of all, the very first question that pops in anyone’s head has to be “where did you get the theme like that?”, well, the theme is free from OS Designer, the theme is really plain so you will have to customize it yourself, that’s what I plan to do with cssFEDD.
Personally, the whole theme gallery idea is really hard to promote because there isn’t any real content (articles) so all you have is images and titles, to get the perfect traffic for this could be a really big bump in the road but lets see if I can find a way around it.
Expanding and growing is what it’s all about, making more money online should be your only goal if you truly want to keep making money online through blogging. If you are or aren’t doing good in your niche doesn’t matter because if you have minimum traffic that is making you atleast some money through your blog then expanding within your niche with products and services will not only get you more money overtime but instant traffic for those things as well, think about it, why would people come to your blog when there aren’t many things to look over. The more content you have on your site which is used in different ways, what I mean here is used by the end user like, read, bought, understood, learned, passed on to friends, researched or influenced by.Different type of content is used in different ways by various users, by offering products/services you are only reaching out to a bigger crowd.
Offering products or services isn’t as hard as people make it up to be, if you know alot about your niche and you can handle your own business well then that means you have enough knowledge to be able to sell that info to the people within your niche, for example, after over a year of blogging I’ve learned alot, such as content development, designing, analysis, marketing, advertising…the list goes on. I’m at a point where I can sell that information as premium services, that’s why I’ve made a Services section here at blueverse, it’s where i’ll be offering various sorts of services (right now only 4, more to come).
And now, on to the main tips, the products and services you can offer to expand within your niche.
Guides and ‘How-to’s
Offering complete detailed guides on how to be successful at a niche has always been a best seller topic, more and more people around the world are turning to the online world in order to make money, but it isn’t easy to make the shift from real life jobs to making money online, that’s why these ebooks and tutorials do so well.
Content Development
Every niche has its own form of content (articles, images, videos..etc) and if you have good knowledge of what people are looking for then you should definitely go for it, make content for the masses and either sell it for a solid price for full rights or you could go for PLR. Either way you need to cash in on your content development.
Web Scripts and Software
When myspace came out few months later a myspace adder showed up which enabled you to add thousands of friends to your myspace at a single click, now take this kind of thinking while making scripts and softwares for your niche. Every niche has a need for a new system or something that will make the webmaster’s life easier, in other words easier to make money and grow. If you know what kind of script would do well within your niche then go for it.
Consulting and Analysis
The value of a good analysis of a site is actually quite priceless, It’s like the ultimate stat in my opinion, to know your blog’s potential is a major fact that will definitely motivate you to work more on your blog. To get that confirmation from an expert is worth alot. It’s a fact, if you’re in the niche for a long time and still going strong you will obviously have analytical skills, using them you can easily estimate a site’s potential.
Web Design for the most used CMS
Every niche has its own legacy cms that everyone turns to if they want to make a site on that niche, like for most niches people turn to wordpress, atleast the users in my niche do, so I offer wordpress theme development, so that whenever someone wants to make niche site with wordpress they look for a unique theme and they find theme designers such as me. Just like that you can offer such design services within your niche (if the need is there, 97% of the niches need unique themes, so how can ya wrong here?)
Offering the products and services that I mentioned above will definitely get you a long way towards being an authority in your niche, it’s important to constantly expand your blog’s reach into your niche. I will continue research on this topic and will post more ways to expand your blog as I find them, subscribe to my feed for constant updates.
