Monetization is really important, bla bla bla…we all know how important it is to find new ways to grow our revenue streams and I dont think theres any need to explain that point anymore before explaining just why the following tricks are so important to practice in order to earn (more) money. Before I get to the actual tips I need to go over a few things such as building up to a revenue, nothing good isn’t achieved without hard work, they say that for a reason, just like in order to get a good pagerank you need to get alot of links, you need to work alot on your blog in order to be a 4 figure blogger. I know 4 figures don’t sound like alot but everyone has to start somewhere now, I’m already a 3 figure blogger so a 4 figure earning month would be milestone for me. If you set your sights too high you might never get there, its easier if you start off small, If you are earning nothing then your goal should be more like 10-40$/month, if you are already doing that then your goal should be 100$/month, every other zero that gets added to your monthly income is a milestone and you should make a goal to keep increasing it further on.
So, lets talk more about monetization, I’ve covered several areas of blog monetization before but this is like non other.
Content for monetization
If you want to make money blogging, you need content and alot of it. Alot of content over a short period of time could work if it’s really really good content, more like viral content. Otherwise it would only dampen your blog’s growth. Gradual growth is what I aimed for with my blog, it gives me more time to go over my tactics and strategies for growth and earning. 1 post a day and 500$/month is how i like to grow at a time. This blog went from 0$/mo ti 800$ in only 5 months (its a big deal for me, atleast) and is still growing, that’s a good sign because it’s still evolving.
Remember, content is, always was and always will be king. The more you blog uninterrupted, the more you will earn in the long earn, this is a rock hard fact, the more you blog useful things, the more value you build up around your blog this is also known as authority.

After all the obvious monetization procedures there comes the question, should I or should I not sell text links? Frankly this question has an easy answer, YES. Now don’t get me wrong, it’s still a no-no by google but you need to either be smart yourself or get a link broker that is smart enough to lay low and still sell links on your site 24 hours a day 7 days a week and, like LinkXL (review coming up tomorrow), they offer great support for their publishers (like moi) and they even offer to help you get setup if you are having problems with getting your blog hooked up to LinkXL, Most of all their service is much more discreet and low low, which is what I like the most. The links are sold automatically (as usual) and you are paid at the end of the month for the link.
It’s okay to sell links (like i said earlier) if you have a competent broker unlike TLA which got me in a penalty ditch for 2 of my sites other then that there are tons of webmasters that blame tla for ruining their income/sites..etc. They were a little too open about buying/selling links and some of this information was leaked through several sources and I’m almost sure that they even introduced the “sponsor links” add on where they made it a must for that to be the header before the links were added, that only pissed of google enough to fully penalize the sites using TLA.

This month is turning out to be more profitable then the last one after the email problem was fixed, 8 days into the month and I’ve already sold 3 125×125 ads (on the right), that leaves only 2 spots (125×125), which are occupied by my affiliate banners at the moment (which aren’t performing that great at the moment, for some reason). Other then that I’m extremely happy that I’ve hit the 500 subscriber mark, the next post about my subscribers will be when i hit 1000 subscribers and when I hit 1000 subscribers there will be even more freebies along with the announcement post.
Let’s talk a little about blog monetization now, a few days ago I posted an article on how Lisa announced her new monetization scheme, that made me think, If i can’t achieve my blog’s full earning potential then this won’t be much of a blog offering good tips on how to make money blogging, now would it? So, I went to LinkXL (full review coming up soon) and completed any steps left then made sure that buyers would be able to buy links at this blog. I know this is a red flag at google, but frankly PR doesn’t mean much to me anymore after google teased me for sitelinks and not just that, i was left out on this pagerank update as well, yep, I’m still a PR4 here, after so much linkbuilding and work, all i got out of it was stronger serps but not a higher pagerank. I’d rather get a stronger technorati rank to earn more money.
My current technorati rank : 17,636 and Authority : 337 with 708 reactions. If you’re interested in supporting this blog then fave it on techno.

This month’s income was a big disappointment to me because of the recent mishap with the contact form that left me unable to sell ads via the blog which is my main income but even without the contact form I did quite okay-ish this month. Although the income was really low, I don’t mind because it made me learn two main things never not-act on suspicion and that I sell ads in 2 basic ways, the basic on blog contact form advertisers and the webmasters that I engage with personally and propose an advertising deal on my blog. This month’s income was solely from the advertisers that I had to talk to personally on forums that wanted advertising and reviews.
Even though my revenue this month was only $120, it helped me learn a critical lesson, never not-act on your instincts or suspicions. Either way, have another happy money blogging month everybody.

Keeping income on your blog coming in constantly can be a stressful task, there are three things that advertisers are looking for in a blog to buy ad space.
Content Quality and Relevancy
Keeping content quality up can be hard because of several writer blocks and personal matters that keep popping up at the wrong time so it’s better to write as many articles as you can at once and save them in your blog for future use. This helps you keep your post/day rate up in case you hit any writer blocks.
Mostly it’s the content that sells your ads, the more informative and well written your articles are the more ads you’ll end up selling. Having other bloggers on your blog as well might be a bad sign for advertisers because they are buying ad space so that they can beenfit from your (the owner)’s articles, not other bloggers. Try to refrain from having alot of people blog there really soon.
