As a network blogger, I know just how hard it is to get a blog up and running up to the point where it actually makes some money. Along the way to that money blogging state, there are going to be alot of hurdles mostly mental blocks and problems that you have to deal with, here are my experiences and some solutions.
Frustration
Getting a blog to finally make money has to be the hardest part in blogging, the frustration that comes along with it is really extreme because the work that you are putting in, you want top dollar for it and the common advertiser will not pay that, most people look for the responsiveness towards the niche before buying ads on the blog. This has alot to do with your RSS readers and traffic to not the blog’s homepage but the inner posts.
This kind of frustration of feeling helpless infront of advertisers usually leads to bloggers selling quality links to underground scum link buyers that buy up in context links for 6 years at a really really small price and in return they get something worth alot more because every blog on the net that is being targeted for links is quality, if it wasn’t then linkbuyers won’t contact you in the first place.
It’s always to get a 2nd opinion from a friend or a constant reader so that you would know if theres something that you are doing wrong. The most important things to remember in this state are:
Never sell out to underground link buyers.
Make sure your price is reasonable according to the market rate
Never to panic in that state
Know when to raise the price and when to go down in order to have a long term customer.
There isn’t really much to post about lately but this one thing that i added a few days ago, its the news section , It’s where i allow for you guys to share your free wordpress themes so that i can include them in my wp theme posts, not only that but i also welcome any blogging tip and any other news that might be interesting and fresh, for that everyone that provides a source will be mentioned in the post and credited for the tip.
Other then that, I plan to finish a new design for blueverse soon, the things I have learned while blogging and wanted changed on the blog, all of those noted changes will take place in the new design. Blogging is all about learning and improving your blog, doesn’t matter if it’s content, links or design. In this case, I learned that the current design was lacking alot of authority that i seek in a template, therefore the new design
This month has been like a roller coaster ride for me and my blogging journey specially, the growth on this blog has been substantial and really amazing, i did expect it to be huge but not this fast but not enough i guess, most bloggers talk about how they get offers from interested webmasters concerning buying out their blog, usually this is 10x their revenue, I was kinda hoping to get offers too but apparently i got none, its not that big of a deal for me but it is infact an ego downer. Yesterday i saw my blog’s selling price at 45n5, pretty impressive that it could sell at $8436. The price was calculated per subscriber to my rss, the rate was $18.something
Moving on, i changed the title and overall genre of my blog from seo to make money blogging because its what i talk about the most here, tips on blogging and how to make more money from your content, so yea, i think its a risky move but i’m still going for it.At the moment, I rank as follows.
Besides from that, these days everyone is trying to sell out their blog mostly because of the fact that summer vacations are coming up and they need cash to live it up or in some cases they want to start an even bigger project (hard to believe, but true). I would suggest selling out too because it’s all about making money through blogging, either keep the blog and work more on it then earn more too or sell out for a huge check
Networking is critical for businesses, websites, blogs, and many other things that people choose to do. Why is that? Well, let’s just put it this way, networking is defined as the gathering of acquaintances or contacts. By having many contacts and acquaintances you are putting your name and whatever you are promoting out there for everyone to see. People talk and when they talk you want them to talk about whatever it is that you are doing. This will give you a massive amount of exposure if you use networking in an effective manner.
There are many ways that you can take networking to its fullest potential both online and offline. Just remember that it takes dedication in order to receive the maximum potential of each option. Once you put in the work, you will be happy with the results as long as you network consistently and effectively.
First, let’s take a look at the ways that you can network online. There are social media websites that have a large user base and enables networking with others in a pretty simple way. The first one that I will bring up is Facebook. Facebook is similar to MySpace and it seems that it is getting to be used more often than MySpace. This doesn’t mean MySpace still doesn’t have its place on the Internet, it just means that I have seen a lot of MySpace members delete their account and move on to Facebook.
MySpace is one of the traditional websites used for networking with a lot of people. It has tons of members just like Facebook. MySpace is a pretty good website to meet new people and this is probably why it has grown quickly.
thA few days ago john chow talked about videos being the next wave in the blogging world, i strongly disagree here, content was , is and always will be king no matter what new methods might come up. To be perfectly honest i think videos are tacky and horrible for serps, unless you provide a text transcript for the video…much like two versions of the same post one in video and one in text. Although it may seem unlikely but while watching videos to learn something you might look over something crucial or might not understand something properly that can’t be explained any further whereas text is far more easier to edit and update.
Now heres my list of cons in video blogging.
Less authority, more entertainment.
More hassle on the author’s end.
Not being able to make videos unless you’re in top shape
Losing out on the smaller ratio of readers, the ones on dial up. I used to have dial up and i hate waiting for videos to load for hours..
Alot of pressure to completely explain a point otherwise lose a whole video
