Wordpress 2.6.2 is a bust! Errors while upgrading.
By in News on 12th October 2008Never thought I’d say this but wordpress 2.6.2 is a bust, I tried to update to the altest version of wordpress last night and to my surprise I got errors on the upgrade page (I had a backup anyway). This was a very first, never have I ever had any problems with upgrading to the latest wordpress version. I even made a support thread at their forums and got almost no help (also a first).
For now, I’m on Wordpress 2.5 which seems to be working the best at the moment, for anyone thinking of upgrading to the latest 2.6.2 version, do not upgrade to 2.6.2, it might just screw up everything and theres a 60% chance you wont be able to get it back. It took me nearly 48 hours to roll back to the 2.5.2 version of wordpress.
On a side note, for this month I’ll be trying out adding ads into every post (post pages) to see if it has any good impact on my revenue or not, oh and 2 new wordpress themes will be released in a few days time.

Ahson, I’m really surprised to hear you had problems with 2.6.2, did you do an incremental upgrade or straight from 2.5 to 2.6.2? In the future, remember to always to a backup
