After reaching a certain number of posts a blog has sufficient data to be linked internally rather then linking to other blogs on the net. Linking to inner posts within a blog is really good for SEO as well as to get some additional traffic because most of the links from within posts get the most exposure.
Searching your blog before searching a Search-Engine
Why not search your own blog for content to link before going to search engines?
It does give you alot of strength to refer to your own inner pages for a certain topic and it certainly does boost your serps.
Revive old content
After all old content is still content, linking to really old content which is buried down in pages!
Linking to those old posts can offer your readers with not only more info but also get those posts more exposure in search engines!
Feed readers to Site Visitors
Usually i don’t click a post in my feed reader unless i really really want to read a post, so if you are adding links within the posts to emphasize a point your readers will certainly click those links to go to the posts at your blog!
Good Link Flow
Linking to other sites is not the only way link flow is altered, the ratio at which you are linking to sites matters alot and if you more links to other sites then pages from your own that is a clear sign of paid links and/or low content value.
No matter what type of keyword research you use, there are more than just seo tools that come into play with keywords when blogging.
A good blogger must know what the current trends in the niche are. You can do this by doing many of the suggestions I have made in the past from one of my Blogging Tips posts. Or from the Blogging Tips post about Google Labs I wrote.
Knowing this information and blogging about it before there are already 500 other blogs with the information can bring you many new visitors who might not have found your blog otherwise.
Sometimes, the best way to incorporate your newly discovered keywords is by offering a post that gives your opinion on a certain issue that is popular in the current trends. If you have a keen enough eye for what’s going on, and you can write entertaining content about it, you are likely to score many visitors from Google and many other search engines.
Now I’m not saying to stop doing keyword research with SEO Tools, but I am telling you to start looking for keywords in other places as well. It’s not always what people have searched for in the past that will bring you traffic, it could very well be what people are going to search for in the future that brings you the most visitors.
Adding the current trends keywords to your posts will surely net you a good amount of traffic. Especially if you are among one of the few blogs who are targeting those particular keywords. If you can even remotely relate your niche to the topics that are currently popular, you should do well with those words long enough to gain some new subscribers that will remain loyal readers of what you are blogging about.
I’d like to talk about other aspects of blogging now as well as the smaller things that make or break a blogger, every little thing a blogger does, matters. In my case, I actually look for mistakes in my blogs or flaws that could be corrected, things that bother my readers bother me too, I can only do so much without any feedback from my readers at this blog.
Dealing with criticism is really hard for bloggers, every blogger/webmaster works really hard to research (well most do) and make the content (some pay for it but still) either way the content takes alot of work from the blogger’s end and listening or reading bad reviews about their work isn’t exactly pleasant for them.
Wait and Revise
First of all don’t over react or react instantly for that matter, responding on impulse on bad reviews can get you into a lot of trouble and leave you with the reputation of an unprofessional and immature blogger and therefore hurt your reader base and traffic. The best thing to do when you get a bad review is to analyze the situation and think clearly.
What is it and Who is the critique coming from?
Before even acknowledge the statement as a proper critique you need to see what it is being said and whom its coming from, if a person with absolutely no experience in blogging is critiquing your content structure and articles or the way you optimize your site for search engines then that review can and should be ignored completely because it has no real value and the person stating that has no grounds to say that in the first place.
Is it my fault?
Thats what you should be asking yourself before coming to a conclusion in some cases the reviewers and critique are in fact wrong but sometimes other people see your blog better then you can, so its better to review the situation from a 3rd person’s view. Most of the time other people see flaws in your blog that you may have not seen or don’t wish to address.
Accepting your fault
If you have come to the conclusion that it is in fact your fault then leave a kind reply to the critic and make sure you as a bloggermake it perfectly clear that the matter that was addressed and the flaw that was seen in your blog will be worked on to make a better blog for your readers. That way you keep your dignity and get a few readers from the critic’s site too!
Addressing the matter
If you have come to the conclusion that its not your fault then be as polite as you can be and don’t make it their fault, basically all that is needed are a few facts from your side, you can post about how you see the situation, how it should be and how you want it to be in the first place. In no way you should insult the critic for finding a flaw in your blog.
