If you are losing and gaining subscribers on the regular for example: everyday you gain 4 subs but lose 2 ; that means that you are only losing the irrelevant ones, every reader matters but not if they aren’t interested in learning or reading up on what you have to talk about on your blog.
A crucial part in a blog’s life cycle is its subscribers and its important to have motivated readers, readers that want to read what you have to
say.
Misconception, False Advertising and Irrelevancy..
In my opinion , this is the most common reason why people unsubscribe to blogs, think of it like this..
Reader goes to blog via a link on another site to read an article on “10 designing tips to make your visitors jump!
Reader subscribes to the blog to read more about Designing..
Next day blogger blogs about blogging tips or his own life - Subscriber lost!
As shallow as it may sound, although its free information/tips people still tend to keep their feed readers in top notch state, it has to have the most relevant information available on the net, good rss subscribers are hard to find - the ones that fall into your niche.
In a detailed report released this morning from Imran Khan and the North America Equity Research team at JPMorgan, Internet stocks outperformed the S&P 500 by 9% in 2007 and are expected to continue to rise throughout 2008.
JPMorgan is predicting that Internet stocks will have a 34% earnings growth this year while the earnings growth for the S&P 500 is only predicted to grow by 8%.
Why does JPMorgan predict such a rise in Internet Stocks? They have proven that faster internet speeds and the ecommerce boom goes hand in hand. Once people have a reliable connection they can depend on to take care of tasks online, it becomes much easier for people to get used to doing. These same people are the reason that Internet stocks are expected to have such a growth spurt. Once users get used to conducting more and more business online, they become more comfortable ordering their products online. With companies offering such easy ways to purchase products and have them shipped right to your home, it’s no wonder JPMorgan expects such a rise in earnings.
Another reason that earnings are expected to see such increases in 2008 are because of the use of social network sites and blogs to get more interaction out of users and give them a sense of community.
What does this mean to the blogging community as a whole? It means that now more than ever we need to have good content on our blogs so that advertisers will want to target our sites to showcase their products. JPMorgan also shows a decrease in newspaper advertising with a continuing decline throughout the new year. The only reason they give for this is due to online advertising methods, search engine marketing in general. With the possibility of ads to be placed in front of targeted users, why wouldn’t marketers want their ads in front of the people who are looking for their services or products?
You can read the whole “Nothing but Net” report from JPMorgan to get a more detailed explanation of why Internet stocks are expected to continue grow.
Below you will find a neat chart showing what search engines people use the most according to JPMorgan’s research. I thought you might find it interesting to look at.
Blueverse is proud to offer you suggestions on where to get inspiration for your blog posts. We hope to make it a weekly feature so that you can get a new source of inspiration every week.
Here are our suggestions for today:
If you are looking for a good place to find out what people are currently searching for the most, take a visit to the Google Trends Lab. If you can post information quickly enough, you may gain some new readers for your blog that would have otherwise not found you.
From the home page, you can see the top ten trends and it gives you the option to see more hot trends. By clicking this link it will open a list of the top 100 current trends. There might be something in the list that you can easily blog about that day, and if you are really good, you could make a few different posts about a hot trend every day to explode your traffic stats.
And the next tip is involved more around your niche market. Find a popular blog that contains information about the niche your blog is about to see what they are writing about. If they have a lot of comments be sure to read those as well. These comments on a particular subject give you great ideas for writing blog posts. Reader’s comments about the topic might give you a different angle on a subject than you would get from just reading the article itself.
As many of you may know, I write blog posts and web content for many different webmasters. By doing this, I have learned many different approaches to finding inspiration for writing great content. I hope you will enjoy my suggestions, I can’t wait until next week when I can share some more with you.

This idea was in my marketing/advertising arsenal the minute i started anime/streaming sites, but to widen the markeable niche here I’ll give out a few tips on how you can use youtube to promote almost any kind of sites, Recently i saw a post on tc that showed a youtube video of microsoft promoting vista, which by the way is an awesome idea overall.
Here are the stats for it, although it was blogged about on techcrunch the video did not get many views but still you can use SMM to get traffic tot he videos, even if your video knocks out around 100 views thats a good thing because now 100 mainstream users know about your website.
Figuring out just what to promote..
If its the anime/video streaming niche, then you probably already know what to do but if you have a product website or a niche that isn’t really “video” friendly then you’ll need to be a little creative.
Promoting an activity is a good way to get people’s attention too, the best example for this should be this site : Pimp My Walk they either create their own videos or find videos using p2p programs and upload them to their youtube as a resource to their own users at their site and on every video page they link to themselves which gives them some kick ass traffic.
Promoting a service can be tricky stuff, i mean “ebooks” and “how to books” when i say services because thats the most popular niche in the how to topic, this one is tricky because here you will have to either upload testimonials or case studies of people with the problem or whatever the niche suggests, it has to be genuine and moving and this can be really hard because you can’t just find these videos you’ll have to make them (record them) using real people.
Promoting a blog, this is my favorite part because bloggers can make or upload (showcase) videos just about anything as long as the video gets tons of views no one cares where it was retrieved from, bloggers such as Shoemoney and Johnchow are examples of this one, Jeremy has videos on his personal life which features him and videos on SEM by Pam, whereas Johnchow loves to make videos on cars, past time activities, food, movies anything that will float his boat. When bloggers make videos and showcase them on their blog its the best marketing tactic ever because it makes your users feel like they are a part of the blogger’s life!
Including your link..
Including your link on every video is crucial and its better if you can somehow make an intro that you can add to every video, something really really flashy that shows your site’s name and address, you can also add your link to the description and/or on your youtube profile page that will definitely help bring in people to your site as well as give you some link love, not that it would be all that great but keep in mind the whole objective here is to bring in excessive traffic.
Here is shoemoney’s intro, to show you what you may need later on..
So I was reading techcrunch and i read about blogfuse, and frankly i love the idea simply adore it!
What better then to give social networks a taste of your feed, ay?
Thefacebook app is now available on the subscribe page and ready for use and I tested it out and it works perfectly!
I think this is a good way to Diversify Your Feed Readers, and after a few weeks ill have stats to prove it as well, this is my first attempt at a facebook app so wish me luck!
Using Kwout can really add to your blogposting skills. People will find your posts more interesting and want to come back to see what you are blogging about today.
What does Kwout Do?
Kwout is a tool that you can use to easily capture a quote from another website or blog to show your readers exactly what you are blogging about. It’s easy to use, you can see my sample below that I captured from TechCrunch, the inspiration for this post.
You can see that I cut out a part of the post that inspired me to write this post. It wasn’t hard to do either, it took less than a minute for Kwout to generate the code so that I could put this snippet of TechCrunch in my post.
All you have to do is enter the url of the website and hit the button that says “Kwout” to pull up a screenshot of the entire web page you want to blog about. You can then choose the area to cut out by dragging your cursor over the area. If you mess up, just hit cancel and then start over. Once you have it the way you want it, just hit “cut out” and Kwout does all the work for you. In just seconds, Kwout will generate the code you need to put it on your website or blog.
Use Kwout in your blog posts to see just how much of an interest you can generate. The more people you have visit your blog, the more chances you have of gaining subscribers and loyal readers. Talking about other websites and blogs couldn’t be easier than clicking a few buttons and having anything you want.
The headlines are the first thing the users/visitors notice before going on reading the actual post only if it’s interesting enough, this topic is best explained by CopyBlogger on this post : Cosmopolitan Headlines
The more curious your readers get the better, its a good thing to get people confused about the topic at times, and its true what they say “Sex Sells” and this is the saying at practice.
