Blogging Inspiration: What I Like About a Blog

Comments (8)By Mary Stage in Blogging, Webmaster on 10th February 2008

So I’ve been reading lots and lots of SEO blogs and make money online type blogs lately while doing my research for what to write about. I’ve quickly learned the blogs that I would like to read regularly. These are the blogs that are easy to read, have real information on them, and have writers with personality.I like the community feel of a blog. There’s something about a whole group of people coming together in one location to work on a common goal or provide information to each other. When I find a blog with lots of comments, I normally try to read a few of the pages to see how people are reacting to the posts.

I just love reading a post about a topic and then being able to see what the readers have to say in the comments. This gives me a good perspective on what the blogger has posted. Reading the pros and cons by other people is always fun. I’ve found I enjoy reading comments just as much as I do blogs. (Great ideas for new blog posts on your own blog can often be found in the comments of a popular blog)

If a blog is too jumbled with irrelevant ads or the information you are looking for is to hard to locate, I usually don’t bother sticking around. I just move on to one of the other blogs that are easy to use and get around in. The ones with a search feature that really works is helpful to quickly find the information I am looking for.

Reading other blogs not only gives me blogging tips, but they also open my eyes to ways of making money online that I hadn’t thought about before. It’s amazing how once you start thinking outside of the box, you are willing to try more and more new things to add to your current stream of income.

As a freelance writer, I often stumble upon some great freelancing tips while getting paid to research an article. It’s great for me, because then I learn the stuff I wouldn’t normally have learned otherwise. Gnet here at Blueverse has sent me to some really interesting tools and website to be reviewed that I have learned many good blogging tips from and I look forward to learning more great ways to make money online with my websites and blogs.

How To Be A Rockstar Freelancer E-Book Review

Comments (8)By Ahson Rafiq in Make Money Online, Webmaster on 27th January 2008

How to be a rockstar freelancer is written by Cyan & Collis Ta’eed, they blog at Freelance switch which is a really great blog for freelancers and people who live for the pursuit for money! :D

I bought this book around a week ago and just finished it and i have to say this book really puts things in prospective for a webmaster specially me, specially its finance management part which is the part i was really impressed of, it effected me because i don’t really manage money that well or at all for that matter.

The book goes over the simplest and the most complicated parts of freelancing and making money online while keeping your life intact, most freelancers or new webmasters tend to over do it when they start out and it completely ruins their personal lives and health. This book goes over time management as well and explains how you should manage your time between work and play time.

How to be a rockkstar freelancer is a one step how-to book for anyone looking to make a career online. The reason i love this book is because they haven’t left anything out at all not even the little things such as how to manage your online career and real life job, when to quit your job and how to handle a full blown business when you have made it!

The things i learned from this book are:

  • How to manage money
  • Branding
  • Distributing time between real life and online life
  • Spending money and saving it
  • Having a budget
  • Handling clients (multiple clients at the same time)
  • Caring more about health
  • Diversifying my interests in a better way

The ebook was a really good way for them to get more subscribers too, when i went to Freelance Switch i instantly subscribed to their blog and actively started reading it.
