This is for those that want to make money with their blog. This article is going to give you 4 must-use advertising networks to take advantage of in order to make money online. After all, what is better than making money by sitting in the comfort of your own home?
Everyone has heard about Google AdSense by now. For those that haven’t, this is an advertising network that pays you for each click that you generate from your blog/website. The payout varies depending on the keyword that is targeted in the Google Ads box which displays advertisements that are relevant to your content. Some of the payouts can be terribly low while some are extremely high. Many people have used Google AdSense to make a nice chunk of money from their websites/blogs. This is by far the most talked about advertising network among webmasters/bloggers. Many have shown proof that they have made a lot of money from Google AdSense. This ranges from a few hundred dollars all the way up to several thousand dollars.
Commission Junction is a very popular advertising network for affiliates. You are paid out on a commission basis for the ads that you display. There is always a continuing debate whether you make more money from affiliate marketing or CPC programs. As with anything, it all depends on how you promote your blog/website. Let’s leave it at that, this article isn’t meant to go into the continuing debate of Affiliate Marketing VS CPC programs.

Fear Of Failing
Every project, every site comes with alot of risk of investment, no one but the investor knows just how big the risk is on his hand, dealing with the fear of losing everything is really hard specially if you are just starting out in your online career and a big fail like this can put a damper on your development for at least 6-8 months. Most webmasters share the same trait, it’s fact over feeling. Letting your brain do the judging rather then what you want to do.
It’s important to know when to quit but not to have irrational thoughts over cancelling an on-going project just because of a “fear” of failure, the best thing to do at these times is to take a note of all the pros and cons from all the projects at hand and weigh them, to know what your weaknesses are in the project and if you could make those weaknesses into strengths or not, usually when you have more liabilities in a projects its best to call it quits but if you are looking way into a weakness and exaggerating it so much, just to make it a real problem for yourself then you’ll convince yourself to call it quits.

It’s really important to know what you’re going to do before you do it otherwise the unexpected occurs frequently, before i launch a new blog to add to my current network I do alot of market research and build a business plan on it before i actually spend the smallest fee of $9 on the domain, even the smallest investments can turn into gold if you do it right. Most of the times I’ve seen webmasters go after the most popular niche and hope to succeed based on someone else’s success, that’s not really how it happens because others have already done their researcha and invested their time and money building up their niche to a place where it’s considered a success.
Niche Selection
I won’t say “never go after the popular niche” because sometimes if you do the right type of advertising on the most relevant content it would produce amazing results and not to forget, content is king so all you may need in the first place could be just quality content, but for your own investment’s sake, do some research on the niche and keywords you would be targeting. For SERP traffic i always optimize my sites for google, Google does have the majority of the search community covered, so yea I’d choose it in a heartbeat.
Google trends is a good tool to look at keyword trends in current and past content, usually the upcomging trends such as in the image below have alot more potential then the ones that are already popular/successful. They contain a developing trend that will definitely prove useful to you if you research the niche fully.
Google SERPs, taking a look at the competition is important too, just run a few queries with the keywords you want and browse through all the top 20 results to see how your future competitors are doing. This can tell you alot about how to and how to not run a site. Learning from others mistakes.

Constant growth is really important to make money online and learning from your mistakes is the biggest step in making money online, most importantly you need to actually go for something in order to have mistakes, like in an video i saw last night on Michael’s blog where he mentions a quote from the video interview of Farah Gray
Everything we want is on the other side of FEAR
An important quality needed in an entrepreneur is the ability of taking the risks to learn from any mistakes that occur during the way, when I started working online for a living I had more then my fair share of mistakes but i never regret them because there was a lesson to be learned on every step and even now after 2 years of online work, I still learn a new lesson every now and then and if you do lose money to learn an important lesson, so be it. Some reasons to go for risky steps in order to learn from them are highlighted below.

With all the paid content flowing around and the membership sites, the question “Is free content really THAT good?“ always comes up, to start off I’m actually proud to say that all my content on blueverse is free and will stay free as long as it’s within blueverse. I am not saying all content should be free, every site has its own set of niche visitors and content trends, not all sites can follow the same guidelines.
Alienating your readers, that’s what happens when you offer 2 types of content on the same site, it gives the illusion of you somehow “screwing” your readers, it does in fact give me a feeling of somehow being screwed while reading a blog knowing theres better content on the same site that I can’t read..Suddenly Paid content added to an already free content blog is a really bad idea, okay you made your point that your content is better then most out there thats why you have all those readers and the responses from those readers, so it doesn’t mean you should just get up and turn over all those people who supported you at the start and helped you grow.

I’m not big on affiliates because i haven’t had much experience in the field but I wanted more stats before i can jump in the game so a few weeks ago i reviewed the how to be a rockstar freelancer e-book, and within a couple days i was in the top10 serps for all keywords regarding “how to be a rockstar freelancer”.

Now its almost a month later, i finally made 1 sale via the review i made here, at some point a week ago i stopped working on my reviews of other products to get some affiliate commission but i think there might still be some way i can make this work.
The only stats i have at the moment are that reviews really encourage people to buy a certain product/service this and the amount of revenue on your end depends on how good the review was of the site and whether you are being truthful or not, besides the revenue its still good to review other products with your aff link because that way you can still have potential sales within your blog just waiting to pop out and surprise you at any moment

Tip of the day: Review a product/service with your aff link anyway, it may just prove profitable in the long run.

I realized something i already knew while reading the teaching sells, Somewhere along the line my business model was completely based on Google, traffic and revenue wise, i depend on Google for traffic via searches and revenue via AdSense not just on this blog but on my other sites as well and every site i plan in the future has Google within my plan and holds over 60% of value of my sites, this is annoying because I don’t really ever depend on something that much that if it goes away or ends I would be in deep trouble.
The reason for this post was to show just why I am not going to depend on Google but as other webmasters take this topic is to “boycott Google” I am not doing that either I don’t depend on Google doesn’t mean i would boycott it, having it as well along with other tactics i will now take up is an addition to my traffic and that’s always a plus.
Working with Google is like working with a bot that works on pure statistics, people on the other hand are 100 times more interactive and much more responsive, Google can only send you traffic and give your page some strength, figuring how to make money online lies within your ability to engage with your readers.
Think about it like this, there are tons more ways to get traffic rather then depending on Google, John-chow was de-indexed by Google then re-indexed and de-ranked on his own main keyword and his serps on most keywords are way down low but he still continues to get traffic, why?
AdWords,Feed-readers, Email Marketing,Natural/Organic links on blogs and alot more ways! His revenue stays stable because his growth is stable as well, the blog is growing on an even faster pace then before without any help from Google.
This post is not all about Google, its about opportunities that you have and might be ignoring in your pursuit of happiness via Google.
Lets look at some opportunities that i came up with by listening to the free audio tape by Teaching Sells
- Selling Content
- Offering Content Based Services (still i won’t offer seo services)
- Design Services
- Engaging in more user based marketing tactics rather then SEO
- A more on-hand approach to my blog readers.
- Sell your passion
- Marketing products to actual people rather then the search engines.
- Focusing more on trends
I’ll be launching something regarding this soon, subscribe to my updates for it!

I’m earning a more decent income through this blog and as time passes people tend to inquire about my “money maker online” that i talk about so much and every single time i state these 7 reasons why i choose to be a blogger then do anything else. Having strong reasons to do something can sometimes influence people to follow in your footsteps too.
Fast Money
You have to admit, making money online is easier then anything online if you know the right things to do. Blogging is one of the easiest things I’ve tried since I came online and that does include my MFA sites, the more you work the more you earn thats the beauty of it!
And the money straight to the bank!
Flexible Hours
You can blog at any hour of the day as long as you DO blog once or more times a day its all good and the rest of the time you can spend working on your health and other activities you might want to indulge in.
Great Experiences
While blogging you get to learn something new every single day, and yes it’s a fact I for example learn at least 1 new thing a day usually by trial and error, its really important to try new things online to get new experiences and more stats on what works and what doesn’t for you. I am planning a more detailed post on Web Development Trial and Error in the next few days subscribe to stay updated.b
Free Stuff
Alot of money bloggers get free stuff to review and alot of trial offers , which is the best part of having a blog, trying out new services is one of the best perks that I can think of in blogging, specially seo and marketing related services!
Growth & Expansion Opportunities
If you blog for a living then the possibilities are limitless for your growth and opportunities to expand either your blog or your web portfolio.
For example, I choose to start this blog because i want to earn money and blog about making that money at the same time and use all the extra cash to further grow my network and eventually start my own designing brand.
Credit & Fame
While blogging you get all the credit which is one of the best things about blogging, no higher authorities taking credit for your work that you put your time in to.
No way but up
Over time your blog will only get better if you follow the pro bloggers of today
- John chow
- Pro Blogger
- ..etc
John chow in fact grew from 2000$/month to 30,000$/month and he predicts the blog will at one point earn 300,000$/month, like i said no way but up
